I'm so hijacking this thread slightly but is there a decent hair dressers to get my highlights done? Not too far off site and reasonaly priced?
And a beauty Parlour too... preferably with threading. lol

 

I'm not sure about beauty parlors, because I don't use them much. But there's a hairdresser at the Outlet Mall that's right across the road from the complexes. I'm not sure how the quality there is right now, because everyones favourite hairdresser there quit. We used to get a Commons discount there too.

 

I'm with u on this one Elle, need 2 find a good place for highlight, waxing & threading! O dear that makes me sound like a right Diva! Anyone know of any goods places for this? I wonder if we get discount off Disney beauticans/salons, 'cause Im sure theyd be good at waxing & threading!

loool one of my first thoughts when i was accepted was: must find a place for waxing lol! my friends called my crazy for that! it's good to know that i'm not alone!

 

What are the prices like at the spas and stuff at Disney that we get discounts on? Is it worth it to go there or to try and find something offsite?

 

There is a great place in the Crossroads mall which is JUST outside of the Disney gates near the Commons. It's called the 'Cut and Colour Room'. They fixed my hair when I let a fellow cast member who had claimed to be a 'hairdresser' back in Quebec colour my hair. Big mistake. It cost a pretty penny to get it fixed but at least I didn't have to go to work with crazy streetwalker hair!
I believe that they also offer spa services. There is also a cheap nail place in the Publix strip mall behind the outlet mall.

Anyone had a particularly good lot of highlights done? I usually have to pay about £140 in London for a full head and last time they didn't take, £140 for nothing but a glorified trim! I don't want that to happen over there when money is tight so if you have a good highlight story and reccomendation of a salon do share! I've become obsessed with highlights since it started costing me a weeks wages!

 

I've been to the Crossroad mall, I didn't know it was near the Commons. Good to know! I only need my highlights done every 3 months or so, so hopefully I can save up if it's expensive..

 

Just remember that your hair will be sunbleached while you're there! My hair got so much lighter in a short time, it looked like natural highlights 8)

 

Yeah, I have to admit I'm definitely looking forward to the "sunbleached" effect of living in Florida for a year!

 

Haha, yup. And I'm lucky, because my hair looks great when it's sun bleached! There was even a hairdresser that were really rude to me because she didn't believe that it was sun bleached
