I have been reading about "Mickey's Retreat". Do many people hang out there? How is the beach on the lake? Can you swim in the lakes or are there alligators? Do the clubhouses supply the volleyballs and tennis balls etc. (should i bring a raquet?)

Also, I know the Commons has a pool but I also noticed that Mickey's Retreat has a couple too. Which one do people swim in and what time are the pools open til? Is it good to live in an apartment near the pool?

I know that is a ton of questions....I found this picture on Google Earth! :)

Sad to say the only time I went to Mickey's Retreat was to do my taxes!!

But others would go and have fun! I don't know about swimming in the lake, but its nice to tan on a beach! Although that's why you rent a car and go to Cocoa or clear water beach. Mostly though its the pool in the commons! It's close by for a quick dip before work or after(some people go in their costumes after a loooong day at work!!) and others will always be there. Going to Mickey's is a little out of the way.

BUT! I really enjoyed visitng my friends on the third floor of building seven and sitting on her balcony, which overlooked the basketball courts at MR and watching shirtless men play basket ball ......*stares off dreamily*

    Ah yeah. The memories. :)

I lived in the back of building 6 and I used to love waking up in the morning to the sun streaming in the window and the sounds of that random veggimite sandwich song (who knows the one I mean :-[ ) drifiting over from Mickey's retreat together with the sounds of guys playing football in the fields outside my window. ;D ;D ;D ah. Lol.

I spent a few days at Mickey's Retreat. The most notorious being the "sandy ass crack" day. Less said, the better. Lol! ;D I actually wish I'd spent more time there. I found it very relaxing. You can't swim in the lake (this is florida  woah not a chance ;D ) but there are volley ball nets on the beach, a couple of pools, barbeque areas and some lovely hammocks. Very cool.

You can hire just about anything from the clubhouse at the commons. From tennis raquets to vaccuum cleaners. As for living by the pool, it really doesn't make much difference. Unless you are down in the ghetto, building 28. Lol :D

Which buildings are good to live in?? ex. Close to pools, shuttle bus, nice and fun people... haha

I am guessing building 28 is not one of them. haha

    Hey,
Wow I totally remember being like u guys. Wondering what buildings to be in and what pools I would swim in. Ha ha Well all the buildings before the 20s are relativly close to the main stuff. The 20s are nice if ur Canadian cause for throw ins and outs u dont have to go far. But it really doesnt matter. Ur apartment really becomes just a sleep and change place.

Building 8 was the best! Right next to the clubhouse and pool and the busstop. I could actually see the busstop from the window in my shower so I knew when the bus before the one I had to be on left and to hurry my ass up. If I got to the pool and forgot something, or wanted to go grab something, I could. I didn't have to leave 5 minutes earlier to get to the bus. I just run out of my apartment and down the stairs and be there. GO BUILDING 8!!

haha i'm getting more excited by the day! didn't think that was possible! If the rumours are true... and you do get thrown in the pool.... I really don't have a problem with that!!! haha... it's much better than being thrown in the snow :D

I'm in 28! :( I think I've got fitter with the mile long walk to the bus stop every day....so every cloud has a silver lining!!

    Ellen x x x
P.S. It's not really a mile away....but I'd allow 10mins to get you to the bus stop in time!!

I'm pretty sure in UK the ground floor dosn't count number wise so a few people get messed up when coming to North America.

    It works like so...

    US - UK
    1st floor = Ground floor
    2nd floor = 1st floor
    3rd floor = 2nd floor
    4th floor = 3rd floor.

    It's a naming thing ;)
