Hi does anyone already out in Florida know how to go about getting regular medication that is on prescription as the GPs in the UK will only give a max 3 months when we leave Thanks
Your best bet is to take a copy of your prescription to your doctor and ask whether they have your medication in the States. They didn't have mine over there but luckily I was only out there on the summer ICP anyway. If they have it you might be able to get it from places like Wallgreens of which there is one next to Vista. There may be others on here that have more information though.
Thanks I was told i need to register with a primary care Doctor when i get there if i need repeat prescriptions The Doctors over here in the UK have now been told they can only issue prescriptions for two months at a time as cutting costs. i was told originally three months What a pain, Thanks again
You may wish to verify if your medication is legal in US. Some of the drugs are not FDA approved and you may have hard time getting a replacement with in US. Your best option is to have friend ship them to you from UK while you here.
yeh you're right in that you need to see a primary care dr. they'll issue you with a certain amount of repeat prescriptions, you get them from wallmart etc. dont ask how you get hold of a dr though because i've not been able to figure that one out the wallmart site has a list of all the common medications which are cheap enough to get hold of. really it all depends on what you are taking. my dr won't give me more than 3 months, and he knows i'm going now so i'm busted. get your dr to write down in a letter what you take and why, so your gp in florida has your details.
hey minnie, i know this is prob not much help, as the thread im looking at you also started but thought id copy and paste here andway for anyone else that doesnt know There's a cast member health centre (With a new one built next to it, I think!) in the back end of the Epcot CM parking lot. Take the C bus to Epcot and walk in the opposite direction of cast services and it'll be on the right! Simple as! And even if they don't have access to a GP (which I think they do...), they'll be able to tell you what to do. Then, for the prescription, just head to the Walgreens near Vista! hope that helps Thanks goes to KC for the above statement
