Well, when you travel anywhere, it's imperative that you obtain travellers insurance to cover you in case anything health-related happens to you while you're away from your (our Awesome, free) Canadian coverage.

Like most companies, the first 3 months of work there are probationary, and your benefits do not kick in until 9 weeks after your employment began. Because the Disney health plan is regarded as a benefit, it doesn't kick in until that time as well.

So, unless you have travellers insurance that covers you for those 9 weeks, you're screwed pretty much if you ever have anything health-related happen to you.

I usually get my travelling insurance from TD Bank, but I think I'll be using CAA this time.

The plan Disney recommend (Mond Assure) looks very good in my opinion. I am gonna have a few question answered regarding hospital checkups, and if thats good to go, i am gonna subscribe 12 months of their Premium Plan

They sent us another place they have a deal with, I can't remember the name of it but it was in an email they sent. Good coverage and a great price. I couldn't believe how cheap it was.

Once you pass your probation, def go for the Disney insurance. I've been done my contract since July and BELEIVE ME I miss my insurance. Now as a US resident and non-cast member I have shopped around and the cost of Disney insurance is half the price of anywhere else I have found.
Generic meds run you 2-4$. I had an infection at one point and the normal cost of the treatment was 90$. I payed 2$. One physical a year is free and if you need to go to Center for LivingWell (which is in the parking lot behind Epcot where you will be going to work everyday) other than that its just 15$. The staff is great and helpful. Ask to see Kelly if you ever need an appointment.
