Hello All, As the Mum of a very keen applicant I have been reading these forums with great interest. It certainly is a very useful source of information and support for those applying and, of course, those who have suceeded in their quest to work for the "mouse"!!! I was just wondering what are the ultimate career aspirations of all you youngsters and do you think this has any bearing on the decisions made on your applications or at interview? It has occurred to me that they may be more inclined to look favourably on those who seek a future in hospitality or tourism perhaps? Hi Wanting to go into a tourism/hospitality is a definite bonus, and one they certainly look for especially in the UK. However, having said that- I finished a degree in Chemistry this summer, and I'm out here- so its not impossible! I have no idea what I'll do when I return (probably not chemistry) but I want to work in a people orientated job, and this is definitely top training! Charlotte x
i have nothing to with that fiedld!! ive just done a levels thats dont relate and when i return im doing a psychology degree. guess it depends on the person x
well, i'm doing med school now, so disney was just a year off for me...but a lot of the people i met there now work in hospitality...so if that's what you wanna do having disney on your resumee will certainly help...
Hi, I didn't have much hospitality experience so when i submitted my application Yummy told me that i didn't have any experience so i went and got myself a part time job as a waitress and no i am waiting to hear if i have passed the face to face interviews. So a little hospitality experience does help.
Hello all, I've had previous hospitality experience from shop and catering work but then went to uni to do Geography & Computing, finished went travelling, working for a travel agents and ultimately want to join the RAF so don't think it really matters what you want to be, as long as you are passionate about something it shows you have the determination to put your all into it. Good luck to your offspring. Lou xxx
hi everyone..!! i just finish my career on marketing, and got a job in merchandise in the mexican pavilion... my resumee wasnt that long, and never had any kind of hospitality/tourism experience.. im taking this year for the mouse, and by my return probably working in something of my area, like publicity or marketing research.. but hey.. if you got any experience in hospitality, it wouldnt hurt to write it down on a resumee... thats just my opinion... saludos !!!!!!! teresa
