Well, I guess some people dissagree with me on this issue, and I praise them on having fun. I did not have fun at work but most people were ok. I did find that Disney has the mentality of hiring people to get the most work out of them for the least amount of $$ in salaries. I guess that's the American way!!

 

jilly is the 27th march your actual start date or is it the day your arriving in florida???? oh and also (another question!!) if you get a position how is your start date(arrival) date organised?? like,do they offer you a bunch of dates and you pick one or do they just offer you one date and if you want it you go then?????
some folk on these boards have been given dates as late as sep. 2007 - does this mean that all the other dates before this are full???

the date u are given is the day u fly, and u basically arrive and start ur inductions etc the next day...so my date is 27th march which means my room in the commons will be available from that date, and il start my inductions / training etc on 28th. As far as i know, people are given a date and just stick with it... ive never known anyone to have choice in the date they go.

When u go to the interview, you give them the earliest date u can go, and the latest date u could go, and i guess thats how they arrange the arrivals. i guess they will also take into consideration wether u have chosen f&b or merch, and when they need people in each section..

i know u obviously want to go as soon as possible, but just remember the more flexible u are with ur dates, the more likely they are to have a position to offer u, and honestly, time really flies.. i first applied in december last year and it was september before i was out here so dont be put off if u get a late start date!

thanks for all the help/advice!!! at my interview on thursday i put down that im available to go over from 1st March 2007,didnt bother putting down an end date as im willing to go any time they need me!!!!! a lot of folk at my interview were in the final year of uni and so couldnt go till june/july - i think i was one of the few there that wasnt at uni and could go sooner!!!

I'm am March 27th arrival. The passport situation in Canada is horrendous. I'm awaiting mine eagerly.

I did the IP back in 2004 like Robbie. I am going back this year(Sept) to work at Guest Relations and he told me that a friend of him is going to work in merch and will be leaving in March. So I just guessed it's you.
Not to many girls are leaving on that date from Saskatoon to work in merch

Crazy!!! Well it's nice to kinda meet you i guess, over the internet Robbie just told me that one of his friends from the program was going to be arriving in the fall and that i should look out for her because she'll be looking for me. Haaha. I guess we figured things out earlier than he expected. Where are you from? Germany? Because there's suppose to be someone from Germany that i'm suppose to meet as well.
