I posted this link (http://www.stupidguesttricks.com/vb3/showpost.php?p=2713&postcount=12) in another thread and it seemed to touch a few people and remind them of the magic that can happen @ Disney World.

I'm just looking for people, whether alumni/current participants as cast, or applicants when they've visited as guests, so share *their* magical moments from the parks. I know this would normally be in the alumni thread, but in light of all the negativity that's been floating about, I think it's really important to share the good memories we have. I'm not meaning to dismiss people's valid criticisms - I just think it's nice to look at the positive side, and remind people of how amazing being a CM can be.

So let's hear your memories of magical moments...!

This doesn't come close to the StupidGuestTricks post but it made my day when it happened to me :)

Last year in June my brother and I visited Disneyland in California for the first time. For a number of days 2 of the 3 tower of terror lift shafts were down. This caused insane queues and the poor CMs were getting the worst of it.

The first day the 3 shafts were running again, my brother and I went on the attraction. As leaving we said to the CM who escorted us out of the lift You must be so pleased all 3 shafts are working again, you guys had a really bad time of it for a while. He agreed and we chatted for a bit as to where I was from (they don't get many UK guests in Cali) then he invited myself and my brother around through one of the CM doors and allowed us to ride again. He passed us on to one of his colleagues and said make sure we got good seats. The other CM put us straight on and made sure we were front centre! A nice touch, and all because I just had a friendly sympathetic word with him :)

I of course went to Guest Services and filled in a Comments form naming both CMs :) Added that little bit of magic to our day :)

Hey Colin, I had a similar experience and actually got really close with a CM in DCA.

Maynard was his name and he snuck us out a secret exit on Soarin' Over California so that we could try all the tiers for the full ride experience. It was really awesome, he was really sweet and he gave us his e-mail but I guess we had copied it down wrong and were not able to get in contact with him.
I really want to tell him I was hired by Disney though, he'd be so excited! Lol.

I am going back in May, maybe I should keep an eye out for him for you hehe :)

    Maynard on Soarin' hehe :)

I love Soarin'. Front Middle is by far the best seat though wouldn't you agree?

Yup, definatly agree with that one!

Do hunt down Maynard, he's wicked. I believe he also worked the Grizzly River Run!

Another Disney moment for me would be the time that I spotted Beast infront of the castle in DL and went up and asked him if I could get a picture, he shook his head but then offered his paw, so I took it and he lead me, walking hang in hand, over to a nicer, more pictureque area to get the shot taken. It was awesome!!!

my story has more to do with the effect you have on guests as a cast member
i was serving a table and the child obviously had a disability, but as we should i ignored it and we had an awsome time joking around and getting to know eachother, it was over christmas and i got a hint from the parents that he had cancer and it might be their last time at disney world for christmas vacation. which really touched me and made me feel really special to be making a memory for them. anyways a few days later i was at the airport seeing a good friend off (benjason) because he left the program early, it was like 7 in the morning and we were all in our matching pj's .. haha we are nerds and i looked beside me and a little boy in a wheelchair asked me if i came to the airport to say goodbye... it was the family i had served a few days before.. anyways.. it was such an awsome moment because that was really the realization that we do have a huge effect even though we may not remember every table we put through le cellier.. they will remember us and the experience

    kinda cool

Its a magic moment we do every night in the UK which reminds me why I'm a cast member and love working at Disney. Mickey Mouse seems to get stuck on the monorail every night (you'd think he'd just learn to take an earlier monrail ;) ) so we ask a child to start the fireworks for us. It can go superbly well on occasions, and the child really believes sometimes. I had one child who asked me if she bought a wand like the one we use, could she teach other people to make fireworks! And I've had one situation where by chance I picked a child who had kidney problems anyway, but she was with her grandparents, one of whom had terminal cancer. They were all in tears (happy tears) by the end, and so was I. It meant the world to them, and I was so absolutely thrilled to be the one making this magic for them. :D

Awww, when I was in WDW easter 2005, we were in MK on Easter Day, and I was wearing my rabbit ears :D one of the only people I saw that day to do so.

Now I was getting comments all over the park from CM's (nice ones obviously LOL), but then it came the time for the Share a Dream Come True Parade. So there I was standing and watching it begin, and along comes Mickey Mouse in his snow globe. All of a sudden he turned to the area I was standing in, pointed at me, then made bunnie ears with his fingers, and gave me the thumbs up. It was only a little magical moment, but it will stay with me forever because it showed that the CM's really do take notice. Not to mention that everyone was watching :D

AND we got it all on tape :D

    The end.

    LOL

    That's awesome Louisa!!!

It was a bright and sunny January morning and Princess Tessa, Momsy and I had just finished out morning bout of Krispy Kremes and we were heading into the park to meet the Princesses. It was my first trip back to the park since I was really little and even at the staggeringly old age of 15, it hadnt even come close to losing any magic. We waiting in line to meet my idol, yah you guessed it, Snow White. As we were waiting, Momsy proposed various questions to ask the chrimson lipped beauty, questions about being a princess, not being able to eat apples, and living with 7 relatively short...tempered men, but one thing my mom wanted me to tell her was that Im the real Snow White.
Well, it was finally my turn and I froze, I had no idea what to say and when I finally stopped shaking I was able to hug her and utter a "wow...you're my favourite"... She smiled sweetly and waved good bye as I turned around to leave.
Just as I was about to depart of her little stage my mom stopped me a blurted, "did you tell her??"
"Tell her what?" I responded, still starstruck.
"That you're the real Snow White!" She said, luckily no children around heard...but Snow White did.
Snow White turned around, smiled her beautiful smile at me and said...
    "I know!"

Well, if only that was the end of the story. Still perched on cloud nine (aka. Mainstreet Sidewalk), munching on corn dogs (princess Tessa and mine favourite food), we awaited the pressession of the Princesses, finally Snow White came up again.
She grinned when she noticed me waving and called out, majestically,
    "Hi! Snow White!"

    yaaahh....THAT my friends, is Magic!

Your story reminded me of something somewhat similar that happened to me this last summer at Disneyland.

My cousins both have girls that are just turning 4 this month, and one is really big into the princesses the other is afraid of all mascot like characters. No they weren't at Disneyland with me, but I decided to track down as many princesses as possilbe to get pictues for the youngest. Her favourate is "Sleeping Beauty" (or Aurora) well I happened to see her outside of sleeping beauty castle. Now I felt a little embarressed standing in line with a whole bunch of young girls just to get a picture, and when I got up there I told Aurora that I needed to get this picture for my 3 year old cousin because she's her favorite.

Her response. "You don't have to make excuses" (in a joking manor). Not really magic or anything but it sure lightened the situation for me a little bit. Got my picture and was on my way.

When I got back and gave a copy of the picture to the three year old (along with a picutre of the castle) she said "WOW She really does live there!" And that was more the magic moment for me. I know that they were thinking about going to Disneyland themselves, and I just know if I get into WDW I'll have a 4 year old (well maybe 5 by the time they come down) to give a special guided tour to.

I have my little story to add too.

The first tiem I went to Disney Land Paris was when I was 15 and everyone was really excited about meeting all the characters, however I'm sure if you've ever been to DLP that occasionally the just wander around and it's all a jumble of people shouting etc, so its a bit crazy.

Unfortunately for me I was in a wheelchair and hence couldn't even get near many of the characters and you wouldn't believe how rude some people were pushing and shoving. When it came to Tigger however he made everyone move out of the way and made a path way through to me and came and signed my book and I had my picture taken also.

It meant a lot to me that this happened as I couldn't really do that much that day! And I think it also made the other people pushing realise how selfish they were being.

Anyway thats my Disney Magic and I only hope I can get there to make others days magical also.

I ALWAYS feel like a dork telling this story but it means SO much to me!! I was 25 when I went to WDW for the VERY FIRST TIME!! My parents could NEVER afford to take my brother and I, so I took myself with friends! It was a dream of mine of course like every other little girl I knew to visit WDW and to meet THE MOUSE!! So, throughout the park I was searching ALL OVER but never got a chance to see him. I did turn a little upset as we were getting to the end of our day and I KNEW I was leaving to come back to Canada the next morning!! So, we went into Mickey's house and I stood in line with every other small little child to see him and when I got up to him I FREEZE!! I couldn't even speak but I BAWLED like a BABY!! I couldn't STOP!! :'( :'( So, the cast member that played him grabbed me and hugged me SO tight and patted me on the head and made me feel better!!
I feel like an idiot but that was my MAGICAL MOMENT!! It has always been a place I HAD to visit and it's NOT ONLY for the young as they say but again.......the young at HEART!!!

Aww they're all really sweet! Hmm I have quite a few stories (sorry, I'm posting like mad here!) from my recent trip to WDW (got back on sunday!)

One that really pleased my mum - she was waiting in line with my 3 year old bro (lets call him squidge) to see Terk and get his (her?) autograph. Normally they just write their name, but Terk must have been listening to mum talking to my brother, because when we looked at the autograph it said "To Squidge, Terk"

Squidge absolutely loves Toy Story, I mean we have to watch it at least once a day kind of loves, and so we bought him a Buzz Lightyear costume, and the day he wore it you wouldn't believe the attention he got! It was so sweet, admittedly the characters seemed quite bored (there was no-one around) but they treated him like the real Buzz! We saw a parade and all the characters waved to him and shouted "Hi Buzz!", Mary Poppins even made her chimney sweep (whats his name?) turn around from where he was waving to people to point Squidge out! It really made his day! (even though he seemed stunned that people knew he was Buzz!!!)

Now I love Toy Story, but Peter Pan has always been my fave film. I could do a perfect Wendy impression I watched it that often! (and for a northerner thats not that easy!), and I always wanted to go to Neverland and meet Peter, and guess what! I actually got to meet him and the first thing he said was "You've grown up!" and although I wouldn't admit it to my parents that was really amazing for me!!

I'm sure there's lots of other things that were amazing, but I should stop now (and I can't remember anymore), but I would like to say Thanks! to all the CMs, especially all the ones in Epcot that put up with my endless questions about the IP and gave me the web address to this site! Oh and thanks for making this trip so magical for my little brother (and sister!) :)
