    Hey!!!!
    I was wandering...
..what should I take with me???
The checklist provided by this site is ok..
    ...but...
    just some questions:
    1) iron, hair dryer etc...It's better to buy them there or take them from home?
    2) bed sheets...are they already in the house or I have to bring mine??

...any other suggestion is well accepted...
...what do you think I must take with me???
    Soooooo confused...
...I feel like I need a train to take my stuff there... ;D
    HELP ME!!!

For hair dryers and stuff, if you have room, you could probably bring them, if you don't then I don't think they'd be too expensive at Wal Mart or Target.

You need to bring or get your own bed sheets and stuff. To quote the Pack, "Upon your arrival, you have the option of buying a package of laundered linens from Price Management, the company that manages the apartment complex where you will live, for $59.00 USD, including tax...."
    It consists of the following:
Bath Towel, Washcloth, Fitted Sheet, Flat Sheet, Blanket, Pillow Case, Pillow

Or you can always get them at walmart!

Take some stuff to make it feel like home. Stuff for you to do, a laptop is a bonus!
    Hope this helps!

    Hey Kev,

It was in the pack, they had a letter from the Housing manager telling us about the linens, how it'll be busy the first couple of days so we wouldn't get a chance to go shopping and that it would be a good idea to bring your own or by them. Did you not get one of these letters in your pack?

You need to bring money with you as we don't get paid for either the first week or the first two weeks, I forget which.

i dont think we have class 24/7. wal mart is open 24 hours a day. at least it was 3 years ago and when there is no bus anymore we can just share a cap to go there...
i read somewhere on here on the 1st day we also get free breakast in the club house. and i am also sure your roomies will help you out
about the bed stuff. i looked at the walmart homepage and saw some nice bed sets for prices between 35$- 60$ they have a comforter, sheets, one of those thin blankets, bed skirt and 2 pillow cases.

I think they do pay you for the training, it's just that you won't get your first paycheck until 2 weeks after you get there.

As for food, I might bring a bit of non perishiable food ie. KD!
They said that you most likely won't be able to get to Walmart until the 2nd day after you arrive. Which isn't that bad. I'm sure it'll be fine.

    No, we didn't :(

I took a look at the info pack booklet too, it said linens wont be supplied and we wont have a chance to buy until the second day, so we're better off bringing them.

    Must be different for ICP.

    Oh well,
    KC

    Really???
I'll better have a look to Wal mart web site indeed!!! ;D
I think I'll take with me just the bare necessity...
    just for the first days...
...then I'll buy the other things...
At least there's the package they offer you, right?!?!? :D
Tomorrow I'm gonna look for a suitcase...
...I really hope to find one big enough!!!

...another thing: how is winter down there???I mean...I don't like that it snows...
...don't konw if it's necessary to take warm jackets and lots of winter clothes of wait and buy them there...just because they're too bulky!!!

    Hey AlexHope,

    When do you go?

Winter is not too bad but it will get chilly. I don't think you'd need anything to heavy but you're probably gonna want a coat.

Maybe it was something they just added on? But ya, for $59.00 USD, you can get this package of laundered linens. If you want me to tell you specifics, like sizes let me know!

    I'm leaving on August 8th...
...so winter is not very far..
I'll probably try to pack it in order to make it as small as possible!!
    I HATE PREPARE MY LUGGAGEEEEEEEE!!!!

I don't even know if I'm allowed to take 1 big suitcase or I can take 2 without paying any extra money..
...because usually (in Italy at least!!) if your luggage weights more than 15Kg you have to pay 8€ (7$ approx) for each extra kilo...

You should check with your airline for the amount of luggage you can bring and the weight restrictions. With West jet, I know I can take 2 pieces of luggage. You know a good idea might be to bring your stuff and get your parents to send you anything that you won't need right away... like winter clothing etc...

    Yes, thanks..
...if you can give me more details about sizes it would be great..
..I just had a look at Walmart web site and I think that the bed size is quite different...
my bed seems smaller than the ones in the pictures...
so I'm afraid that my bed sheets wont' fit...

    Well..
by now I don't know the company I'll fly with..I just know that Disney will book my flight..that's all...
    Anyway..
the idea of sending stuff from home is great!!!!!
You seems, quite clever, don't you?!?!? ;D ;D
    Thank you...
...you're really helping me through this labirinth of things to do!!! :D

No problem! That's what these forums are for right? I've gotten a lot of help from everyone else too so thanks to everyone!

The sizes that they provide on the letter are exactly what will fit your bed in Florida. So you can use these to get your own before you go or see if yours that you have already are the same size... they are as follows:

    Fitted Sheet, 99cm X 191cm
    Flat sheet, 168cm X 244cm
    Blanket, 163cm X 203cm
    Pillow Case, 107cm X 92 cm
Pillow (doesn't specify size, I'm sure it'll fit in the pillow case though!) ;)

They also provided sizes of the bath towel and washcloth in the package, of course, the one's you bring don't have to match these sizes :p

    Bath Towel, 68cm X 127 cm
    Washcloth, 25cm X 25cm

You can also contact Price Management at (407) 827-7735 or send an email to Christine.X.Price.-ND@disney.com with any questions! Hope this helps!

    ...well...
    of course that it helps!!!
Later I'm gonna check the size of my bed sheets...
..of course towel's size is not a problem!!!

    By the way...
talking with the recruitment agency I found out that the passport must expire at least 6 months after you finish your year there...
...some people had a problem because of it..
    So..
...make sure that any of your docs expire once there because I suppose it will be quite tough to renovate it from the US!!! ;D
