Hi, Just wondering whether anyone got kristen's email this morning and is going to the interview in london on 25th may for the grad program? I'm going so would be nice to see if anyone else on here is too!
Hi yeah i'll be there! pretty nervous - and do you know what this presentation thing is about? bit confused - WE don't have to do anything like that I hope?!! Sophie x
No, they make a presentation to us so all we have to do is listen! They normally ask questions and you can win little disney prizes if you answer one but that's about it I think! Its just before ny final yr coursework is due so I think it will be a stressful week! Can't believe we have to be there so early either!
I won't be at your interview but i'm also doing the grad program in october. I had my interview in march in birmingham. But hopefully your interviews will all go well and i'll see you in florida.
Mines on the 26th. because my last exam is on the friday, hope i'm not alone here! so if anyone is staying in london on the night on the 25th and fancies just going for a drink, calm my nerves etc :S
I would have much rather gone to the Saturday interview but I have to work and the won't give me any time off sadly! I totally know what you mean about having a drink to calm the nerves - will be looking to do the same thing on the Thurs nite so it's a shame we're not at the same interview!!! ~Kim~
I had 2 bottles of Corona just before my grad program interview. It just settled my nerves and made me sound bouncier. I was interviewed over the phone tho in Feb so I guess they couldn't see if my eyes were slightly glazed.
I'll be there on the 25th. So excited I won't be sticking around though as my exams start the following Monday :'( Anyone know why we have to be there all day? (although I just emailed Kristen to ask that, so if I get an answer I'll post it here - i'm just being impatient)
You might not have to be there all day but basicall you have the presentation in the morning until midday. Then they give you a time to come back at for your interview. You could be lucky and only have to wait half an hour or you might have to wait until 5. I think they give the people who live further away the first interviews. Thats what happened in birmingham.
i guess i'll be taking revision with me then. what a fun day that will be! how long was the interview? is it just with one person? any tips on what sort of things they asked, or whether they expect your degree to be relevant?
They interviewed us in pairs but there were so many people there i guess if they have 2 interview dates then you'll prob be interview individually. My interview was really quick it was 10 mintues between 2 people. They don't expect you degree to be relevent. I do genetics and i guess as long as your interested in hospitallity then thats alright. The questions were pretty simple: Why disney? Have you travelled? How do you deal with stress? Why merch/f&b/etc? I think you just have to try to relax and be happy and friendly. You'll be fine.
Thanks Louise. I was worried after I saw that it was a day long that it might be like the hellish one-day interviews I did for some graduate management schemes. So I'm happy now ;D
I'm staying in the Hammersmith Travel Inn, think its about a 2 minute walk away so I thought it'd be better to do that than attempt to get to London by 8.30!! ~Kim~
When i was interviewed the presenation was at 9am, but my interview wasnt until 5.30pm, whereas some were interviewed at 10am. so you might have to stay all day, but you can leave the offices until your interview time comes round.
Goodluck you guys, don't be nervous, there is no need to be. The recruiters are lovely and are not trying to trip you up or anything. Just be yourself and smile which is what everyone here says but thought I would reiterate. Goodluck, sooo jealous A xx
