LIFEGAURD TESTS

    Hi,

    Some of that information isn't accurate. The following is from the Disney website:

    "Swim 200 yards freestyle or breaststroke; retrieve a 10-lb brick from the deepest section of the pool (minimum 8' depth); tread water with hands out of the water for two minutes. "

    The swim, as is implied there, is not time limited - you merely have to complete it in a "reasonable time".

    I obviously can't give you a firm statistic on the overall failure rate, but I'd be very surprised if it was 50%. When I took the test, not one of the 16 or so people who were also present failed. A number of people do fail the lifeguard training course first-time, but the vast majority of candidates have passed by their second attempt.
