Hi everyone!! I'm Erick from Mexico and I'm going on April 2008 for Guest Relations, and I wonder is there anybody in there who has been already in this job or is waiting a response? or waiting like me to go in there? This is an unusual topic because there are just a few positions but I hope we can meet! Add me to your msn to chat erick_pong@hotmail.com

Plese post!! hehehe this is the first topic that I make!! I guess we are just to few guest relations people
Hey Erick! Just out of curiosity, what kind of qualifications do you need for guest relations? I totally wanted to apply for that, but I didn't really persue it...however, I am stoked to be doing Canadian f&b instead!
You have to apply just like you applied for the IP but you can't apply if you haven't been for one year in the IP or other program before... I mean you must have experience in working in Disney so if you are in F&B you need to wait until you finish your program
i think someone told me though that you need to have a second language...cause i remember asking about this on the boards a while ago because I was interested in it as well. am i correct?
That's a mith... Most of the guest relations that are american are... well... americans! and they only speak english, It's true that the european guest relations they speak 3 languages or more... but that has nothing to do with getting the job
HI! I am going to work at GR in Sept. And as far as I know it is true that you have to speak another language. I guess the Visa is the problem cause we're on a Q1 like all the other ICPs. What else should be the reasons why no Canadians and Brits work there? I think you need to have eithr french, spanish, german, portugese, chinese or japanese as your mother tongue to get the job. How ever the thing with working before at the part is a myth cause i know a few people who worked at GR without work experience at WDW or sny other disney park.
Hey!! finally I meet someone who's going to work as a GR! where are u from? Do you know someone who has been selected for guest relations without any Disney background? The thing about the language... I know a girl who is going in March and she only speaks spanish and english... so she is missing one extra language
While I worked in Disney in 2004 there were 2 or even 3 germans whith no disney experience btw I am german as well ;D. The second language for the mexican girl IS spanish. You just need to know one other language than english. Do you know at which park you'll be working?
Hi everyone My name is Erika , I'm going to Guest Relations as well, and when I asked at Disney what I needed to apply they told me about the one more language besides english and spanish . I speak also a little Italian . At the interview actually they didn't ask anything about the languages but I do belive they do notice. About the experience and in the past you didn't have to have previous WDW experience, but now is a requirement. I was last year at QSR in MK but I was only there for 5 months. I'm arriving September 18th. Are you there now? or when are you going. Erika
Erikaaaaaaaaaa!!!! Im so jealous you're going for a whooole yeaaar!!! I need to get some italian lessons from you so i can apply for GR next year haha!! i wanna stay at Disney forever and eeeeveeer!! hahaha
Hi!! the first thing that I'm going to ask when I arrive is... why did you choose me? I know a mexican girl who got accepted but she only speaks english and spanish, weird huu?? In my case I'm a language nerd... I live in mexico city and I discover something productive to do on my way to job (which is one hour average) and I study languages, I guess that's something that helped me a lot in my year in disney, specially in the commons, people just see you nametag and sit aside of you to start a chat! "how did you learned to speak italian, german and french?" besides of course spanish and english? jejeje!! GIRLS LOVE IT!!! I used to work in the CIPO trailer as the language tester and in the mexican pavillion in attractions I'll be in guest relations in April thanks for keeping this section alive!
