What is the situation regarding doing laundry at Disney? I don't remember the video we were shown before the interview elling us anything about that. I know it's random!!!!!
If you live in The Commons, you get your own washer (and dryer??) in your apartment... if you live in Vista there are washers and dryers in each apartment complex that you have to pay for. I'm not sure about Chatham.
I think I remember seeing another thread on this topic not too long ago that went in depth into all of the laundry info on it...
in vista there is something like 3 washers and 3 dryers on the ground floor of each block. in chatham there is a laundry building. i dont know how many there are, but i only saw one of them!
The washing machines at Vista are RUBBISH!! Just to warn you! If you handwash stuff its much cheaper and you won't ruin your clothes! I know so many people who've had stuff ruined by the washing machines and stuff either comes out not washed or absolutely soaked!
I think it depends on the block you're in! I was in block 40, and we never had a problem with the machines... in fact, they were identical to the ones we had in our halls at uni... so at least I knew how to work them!
Yeah, we had that problem at the Commons to! But they were quick to fix things though... But my biggest issue was the air conditioner and other people liking to turn it off when it was really hot outside
Has anyone noticed how all the girls ask questions about important things like washing, GHDs and clothes shops and the guys just seem to wanna know about partying and money?! It's so funny! I'm just the same though
i was in building 30 at vista and had no problems with washers and driers. it was sometimes a bit annoying if people had left their clothes in the machines when u wanted to use them. The air con wars were in every apartment jus about. I liked it pretty cool in the apartment, but other poeple prefer it a bit warmer.... Another thing i remember was that hair straighteners didnt heat up as much as they did back in the UK
Hair straighteners and dryers don't get as hot/powerful in the states because their appliances run on different voltages to ours. I used to have a hairdryer that had a switch on it to change the voltage from 240 to 125. I think most travel hairdryers have this, but to be honest if you want a really good one you may as well buy a cheap one over there.
I was lucky with the hairdryers! The girl that lived in the apartment before me left hers But I don't really use them much though...
Like was mentioned before you get the air conditioner wars in every apartment people come from different places and some like it hot some like it cold and some like it in between. also the commons Washer and Dryers are in the actualy suite and they always worked pretty well. sometimes you have to dry twice but other then that they were fairly good. I cant speak for Chatam or Vista because I didn't stay there.
If you have a new pair of GHD's then they have an auto adjusting voltage so they work jst as good wherever you go! Does mean an extra £100 odd tho lol (or £135 for the pink ones which i bought...cuz they are pink lol!) X
