Hey Everyone, Just wondering if anyone knows what the laundry is like on board. Is it somethign that we have to do ourselves in a laundry room, also havig to buy our own detergent?? If someone could let me know that would be great. I leave in 10 days I need to know on the ship. Nikki
Hi! Laundry onboard can be a lengthy process!!! You can pay to have it done by the Chinese boys in the laundry room but I didn't fancy them handling my underwear so I used to do it myself. There is only around 3 rooms onboard for doing laundry with either 3 or 5 machines in them, which for around 1000 crew isn't very many! And sometimes some of the machines wouldn't work but you wouldn't know until you had left your stuff in there for over an hour only to go back and find it still soaking wet!!! Also, unfortunately theft can be a problem. I didn't experience anyone stealing my things but I know some people who did. I often sat in the laundry room for over 2 hours with a good book waiting on my laundry being done! As I said a lengthy process!!! And quite often people used to leave their stuff in the machines for hours on end too!! Best time to do it, if you can stay up late, is in the early hours of the morning! Or on a Port Canaveral day, if you don't mind staying on the ship when most people get off. My advice take a big supply of underwear, as you work so much you don't use your own clothes so much, and your costume gets washed for you, so if you have plenty of clean underwear, you don't have to do laundry so often!!!! Oh, and if you do your own laundry you need to buy your own detergent. Hope this helps! Laura.
