So, I thought I'd just let you guys know what happened at my interview - a report from the frontlines, as it were . I'm in South Africa. The Disney people that do Africa and Asia get to travel all over. They're off to Thailand in a couple of days, then back to Botswana and South Africa. Alright for some... Our presentation consisted of 2 or 3 minute video clips mixed with a slide slow talk. I won a Disney bag for answering "name 2 of our hotels at WDW" and I won an elephant poo notebook for naming the "Dream" as a Disney ship. After the presentation, we had our interviews - mine was early on. There were 2 interviewers set up in opposite corners of the room. We filled in our preferences, answered the standard questions (tattoos, availability, etc) and then got to interviewing. It was really relaxed - my interviewer was a couple years older than me, so it was easy to chat. She asked me what I hoped to accomplish at Disney, how I'd cope with living away from home for a year, why I chose my number 1 choice to work at, a couple of questions about my CV, and what I'd tell someone about my home town. It lasted about 15 minutes. I'm not sure how it went - I think it was ok, but not stellar. They said we'd get the results sometime mid to end October. Hope some of this helps. Good luck, peeps!
Eeek! Sounds good! Hope it went well for you! I have my F2F on the 2nd Oct in London! So thanks for what to be expecting! good luck!
Thank you so much for posting this! I've been trying to prepare for the interview in my head, and this has helped a Lot! I have my interview on the 2nd Oct in London, good luck!!!
Glad I could help, guys. I just want to say, if you think it's bad having to wait for your interview, it's 10 times worse twiddling your thumbs while you wait for results. Trying to find ways to distract myself for a few weeks.
"Mid October" at the earliest, but it could be the end of October. All while they're off gallavanting around the world I'm just busying myself with work and trying not to get too excited in case I get the ol' Dear John. Thankfully TV season has just begun, so I've got some shows to distract me. Oh, and I just realised they also asked me a specific question about dealing with a difficult customer, so it's probably useful to think of a few scenarios depending on what type of job you're going for (I'm going for "Savannah Guide", so quite different to the UK/Canada F&B or Merch).
About the waiting time, mid-october sounds reasonable. After my interview i waited for 15 days before I got my "Congratulation Letter (e-mail)" from Disney. If you are put on the waiting list, I have understood that the waiting times are very different (some wait for only a couple of days, other, months :-\) After you have gotten the Congratz mail you will get your arrival date and position (yes, it is not certain you will get the position you applied for). They will also tell you that you will get the Disney Package (a envelope with rules, FAQ, welcome letter, Disney look book(how to dress and look), and a form you sign if you have understood everything in the package) The last thing they mention is that approximatly 1 month before departure, you will get a form via E-mail that you need to enter the American Embassy and complete your Visa request (finished my Visa request today and gonna get it in a week ) After that, you get some videos with tutorials in different things (clothing, apperance, how to survive at the Orlando Airport, etc...) Hope this helped everyone, I remember having so much questions when I applied, and I gladly help anyone who needs more help regarding the application process (as best as i can of course )
