The Canadians dont actually have to go to a visa appoitment. Basically we just have to send in our background check and wait for our visas to be mailed to us, which should happen in the next couple of weeks!

I arrive June 22nd as well! I will be working in Merch, in the Canadian pavillion, except, unlike you guys, I found out, YESTERDAY. So, I happened to notice that, you said we don't have to go to a visa appointment as Canadians? How does that whole thing work out, I just got told yesterday, and Ive been frantically searching for information on how this works, and how much it costs, if you could get back to me that would be great! Can't wait to meet everyone!

i'm guessing kristin will email you a background check, or it'll come in the package maybe? all it is a form that states your name DOB and any addresses you've had for the past 5 or 10 years (i can't remember which). i had to fill one out for a job last november, it's no biggie.
all it does is gets sent back to the goverment, they put in your info, see if you've been convicted of anything, or are able to work abroad and if everything is good, then i guess they start the visa process!

I know i had to go to my local police station and get a background check and then send it to kristen. im not sure how that part works considering you have so little time, I'm sure she will just send you the info on exactly what you need to do for that. Your visa petition will arrive in the mail and yes you do not have an embassey appoitment. You just need your visa petition and a white i-94 card that will either come with it in the mail or you can get from your airline. as you go through customs just make sure they know you are working there and not going to visit.

If you need help on anything else just let me know, ill do my best to try and answer. ps. Congrats! Are you randomly flying through toronto?

Thanks for the info, I am seriously freaking out, cause all the info I had found, said I would have to go to the American Embassy in Vancouver, to speed things up, now I dont, and, Kristen is out of the office til June first, wasting four days and, three of the four days off I have before I leave! But, ill go get my background check, since thats the onlything I know I need for sure! And I wish I was flying through Toronto, i'll buy my ticket monday, the flight I have in mind has a stopover in Chicago.

    Hey Wesleyboyd!

Congrats on your new role! My name is Nicholas and I also arrive on the 22nd in Canada Attractions. There is alot of information but dont worry, if you have any questions at all please dont be afraid to ask! Myself and Jenn are both alumni so we can help. As Jenn said it is very very important you tell US Customs you are working so that you get the right stamps, i-94 (white card) and status when entering the usa. Congrats again and have fun packing!

So what do I actually have to do for my visa, I know I need a background check, and what do I do with that? Do I just get my forms from kristen, and along with my record check bring it to customs in the states?

hey wesley i would e-mail kristen. When i had my background check i sent it to kristen so she could pass it along with my visa application that disney puts trough. she then sends you your visa petition, which you take to customs with you. however because your on such short time constraints i dont know if it will be the same process for you. Basically, there is not much you need to worry about for the visa, its just the background check and you i-94 card youll get later too.
