The following info can be found on the FAQ page of this website. (http://www.wdwip.com/faq.htm)

Can I get a Florida drivers license or ID card?

Yes, everyone can. It is simply a matter of going to the DMV (located on the corner of South Orange Blossom Trail and Osceola Parkway) and presenting your passport and/or current license. The friendly folks there will give you the option of a Florida-only license (not valid outside of the state), a full-license, or an ID card. Choose the full license and you must say goodbye to your old license - they cut it up. If you are from outside of North America you will need to sit a driving test - but don't worry - it's a simple 10 minute exercise that anyone will pass. Cost: $20 for a license, $3 for an ID card!

    Hope it helps! :)

Yeah its easy to get your US Drivers License. I got the Florida only one. You do a touch screen theory and then spend 5 minutes driving round a parking lot. Then they tell you whether you passed or not. If you pass you go back inside and wait til they take your details. They give you a temporary drivers permit (make sure you do not lose it), as they mail you your drivers license, which you get in like 2 weeks.

I went to Winter Park to do my test. I highly recommend making an appointment. They do except walk-ins but if they have too many walk-ins they can send them away, and only deal with those who had appointments. Luckily I had an appointment as that happened when i was there. Also don't expect to be seen at your appointment time. I think i was in line for an hour before it came to my turn.

I rented a car from Avis on the day of my test as you have to have proof of insurance. I had the basic insurance which was on my rental agreement and that seemed ok.

    Hope thtat helps.
