Hi everyone,

i've been reading all your comments for the past few weeks, and everyone seem sto be doing either f&b or merch. I'm working over the summer as custodial, and i haven't read that anyone else is doing that. Would just like to know that there are others out there!!!

I'm flying out on 6th June. Bit apprehensive, cause i won't know where i'm going to be placed until i get there. Is anyone else in the same situation?? I just want to know everything now - i'm sooooooo excited!!!! ;D

I KNOW I AM SO EXCITED,i really wanna know were i will be based fingers crossed for ur fav theme park ,im sure we get situtaed in our fav,as julie asked me which was my fav theme park ,as soon as i said i wanted to do custodia.

i am heading out may 31st!!!..i am so nervous too.

So happy someone else is doing it!!!!! What is your favourite park?? I love the Magic Kingdom the best, i get a funny feeling everytime i walk down main street.
People have told me that custodial is good, but i'm still worried!! When i was at the Disney presentation i told them that i didn't mind what i did, i'd even clean if it meant that i could go and work at Disney. I guess they believed me!!

yay i wanted to do custdooial as ua re free ,you get to roam the parks *still do work of course* get to be nosey!!!no u get a lot of guest interaction and u get to talk to guests more....looks great.

i know u dont know what to expect....i too love all the thme parks i love magic kindom yes.....the music and everything is just too much...it gives u that makor buzz factor.........

but i dont wanna jynx myself immmmm wayy in to art amd love the backlot tour at mgm ,so fingers croseed ,but i will be happy anywhere as long as im in disney.

Hi, im not doing custodial but i am doing operations and not many people seem to be doing that either.

Anyway i am headin out on the 6th June also! Yay see you there.

Oooo i hope they place us in our fav park, it seems weird that they asked us which was our fav, i said mgm so i just hope i get to work there.

I'm going out on the 20th of sept to work f+b.

I'm confused! I didn't know we could do other jobs other than merch or f+b. I worked operations in disneyland paris last summer and it was really good!

Anyway, was just wondering!!

 

What did u do in Operations?

 

Yeh what did you do in operations? From what i could gather we will be responsible for clipping people on the rides etc and cleaning the ride area. Is that right?

 

yeah it was that type of thing.

I had to put people on the attraciton , operate it (which was quite stressful if the ride decided to break down!), keep the area clean and stuff like that.

We moved positions every twenty minutes so you never really got bored and were always busy.

 

Sounds interesting, which ride did you work on in paris? Did you enjoy it?

 

I worked in fantasy land so we moved around most of the rides. I did enjoy it. I was actually thinking of going back if I hadn't got the florida job!

I'm actually going over to America two weeks early as i have a reunion the weekend before Disney starts. But i'm flying down to Orlando on the 6th, so i'll meet everyone there

Hey Everybody-

I'm doing custodial too, your the first bunch of people who i have actually read are doing something other than Merc and F+B. I have also been wondering which park i am going to be put in and thought that when they asked which was my fave park that might mean where i'm gonna be put.

I'm hoping for MGM, but i'm not bothered either way. I chose it coz i wanted to be walking and meeting people- everybody i tell keeps taking the mick thinking its a crap job!!

hey becky! the reason they ca do that is because they r doing the college program 4 just 3 months...the ip that we do oly offers f+b or merch...unles ur pavilllion has a ride and the UK doesnt

 

When people ask me what i'm going to be doing at Disney, i dont say custodial anymore, cause like you Nessa they laugh. So now i say that i'm "keeping the parks pretty!"

They'll be the ones stuck here tho, while we're walking around all day in sunny Florida ;D

Exactly Sarah- that is what they realise after they have laughed!! Good use of words tho, 'keeping the parks pretty'- think i'll have to steal that off u. I'm not allowing myself to get that excited by it yet tho, as exams dont finish til 12th May and so i need to focus on them (not really happening tho, what with eating, drinking, sleeping, watching tv and planning my packing for Disney)!!!!
