Hey everyone, I was wondering about the year exchange and wanted to know from someone who had already done it, what their university did about it.

Was it accepted as part of the course?
Was an extra year added to the course??

Oh and did people do the full 12 months at the park, or did they do the 5 at uni and 7 at the park??

    Economics, Finance and Management.
I can't decide whether its worth applying or not...
Degree-wise, I'm having trouble finding anything relevent enough to convince my mum, she pitched a fit when I got a part-time job at Lord's Cricket Ground instead of a good solid degree-related... bank or something.
On the same note, I really really really want to do the whole Disney experience.
    ???

I haven't even had an interview yet, but my uni has told me it will be accepted as part of the course.
It'd be weird if they wouldn't accept it though, since one of the things I have to do before graduating is spend at least 5 months in an English speaking country.

Ah, that is indeed helpful. Unfortunately, my course has no such requirements :(

How inconvenient is Easter when you want information huh?
I have to wait til Tuesday for everything.

What course are you doing?(sorry, I'm starting to sound obsessed with courses aren't I?)

I'm doing 2nd degree English Teaching.

I know, I'm waiting for an email from Yummy Jobs too, Easter could not have come at a worse time... :)

If your university won't accept it then there's also the summer programme if you're inbetween years. It's not nearly as long- only 9 or 12 weeks depending on your start date- but at least it's a taster of the experience, and then you can always try for the cultural rep after you've finished your degree or something :)

I am from Wynyard near County Durham if you know where that is..

Also i can tell you..that it costs $2500 in tuition fees for the year..Then there's your flight, visa, criminal background check and everything on top..

So your looking at around £2000 before you've even got started on spending money..

    Hope this helps..

Durham, yes. Wynyard... sounds wonderful :D

Less than the £3000 for tuition alone isn't it??? Either way, the experience should be worth the cost if it's as 'Disney' as it sounds.

... you pay for a criminal background check????

Yeah, you pay for the criminal background check..Can't really remember how much it is now..probably about £40 i would of thought..I can't be certain though on that one..

I guess you could say that the tuition fees are around £1300..so sort of what they are for the people who are on the old tuition system like me..so quite reasonable really..

Have you heard of Wynyard? People usually haven't heard of it unless there from Teesside really, haha..

I only know about the J1 Academic Program that im doing..

In the one im doing you live at disney for the full year, because you have to work there for the full year..

I reacon though with the michigan 5 month one you'll live in the halls of residence at michigan and then move to disney once your time there is up to work..

Although you may do it at disney university..Not really sure about that program to be honest..

    Anymore questions :)
