I'll turn 21 over July, and seeing that I'm leaving in a few days, I'll have to live in an apartment named "wellness". I have read this somewhere... But I'm sure about one thing, we can't drink when we are underage ! :-\

From what i remember the under 21's aren't mixed in apartments with over 21's unless they have speifically requested a wellness apt (no alcohol at all... even for cooking, lol)

This topic is always coming up again. Back in the days they didn't have welness apt.'s and I thought it was so much better, because all ages were living together. My direct roomie was 7 years older and she was extremly cool! Just because you will live in a wellness apt. doesn't mean you won't be able to drink. Security won't be on your heels 24/7, so you can always visit a friend and have a drink there ( or outside at the parties ). I think the basic idea is just to limit the underage drinking a litte bit.

Sara- how stupid is it to move apt.'s after 19 days? lol typical american logic! If I were you I would stay with my roomies when I get along with them and go elsewhere to drink...

About the car issue....I didn't own one when I was there but am going to buy a car now that I'm moving back to Florida, so I can tell you about the costs in 2 weeks. If you rent a car you only need your drivers license. If you want to buy one you will need to get the Florida drivers license. It's very easy. You go to an office, take a test ( which you can fail 3 times a day and you just keep on takin' it until you finally pass ), pay 20 bucks and you will get it. I can't tell you how much you will have to pay for insurance etc. yet!

It'll be a huge step down not being able to drink, not being able to party the real way :'(

 

LOL did you just read my post???  You will have as much fun as the others, believe me. I never missed out on any of the fun and I was 19. Hey norwegians and germans couldn't deal with a year of not partying and drinking. It will be awesome, no worries!
