Personally i'd want to work in operations! but most of the talk is about f+b and merch... why is this? what are the positives and negatives to operations? by the way im reffering to the summer program... in operations do you get to move around at all between different rides/parking/entrances, different parks etc? oh and it's called the summer program but i live in Australia and our summer is obviously Florida's winter...so does that still count? can i apply to do the program from like december -february ? thanks in advance!
oh some more questions! sorry haha how does the pay compare with operations and the others? and what is security like in your apartment? do you get a locker or something? because id imagine everyone would want valuables such as laptops, cameras, ipods etc safe when they arent home...
OK can only really answer your last question: You get a small locker in your apartment which you supply your own lock to. It will fit a laptop and I kept things like extra money and my passport in there. Overall security is good (even came out to get a frog out of my bathroom the one day for me because I couldn't get it out). I did have a few CD's nicked while I was over there (still haven't actually replaced my Dido album actually which reminds me I need to) but no other problems.
hey i do operations, im doin the year long program but its similar to the short 1, and i no people who r doing the short 1 at the moment. Iv been given the role of park greeter and also parade audience control so thats my rotation, but some of my friends were given operations roles on the rides, mainly in tommorow land. Some of them are just trained in 1 ride and thats whr they stay, and some are trained n 4 or 5 and rotate through all of them during the day or week. It all depends where you get put when you arrive. With regards to pay, i think merch and operations are the same, but i cldnt say 4 f&b coz i have no idea! think its less pay but with tips, so there are pros and cons 2 all positions. Personaly im glad that i chose operations, and im happy with the position iv been given.
