    Heya,

I was talking with a coworker the other night...and he suggested i buy a bike while i'm down there

Is that something people do? Is everything within biking distance? Is it possible to bike to the parks/work?

I would imagine it would be pretty hard to ride a bike around florida notbecause of the roads being hard as they are not its all flat but because of traffic is crazy

Yeah you really would be taking your life in your hands there and I might be wrong but I think bikes on the highway is actualy even illegal. ??? ???

Alos, you aren't allowed bikes in the Commons. You have to chain them up outside security. :-\ People do do it though but def. not to get to work. :)

yeah i agree w/ºOºna i dont think is the best option & it is illegal to ride a bike on the freeway wich takes you work/commons/work.
But if u want one bike for exercise i think u would be able to buy one half use over there.
    See ya

I never thought about a bike! I have always had my car so I have never rode my bike anywhere except maybe to the park for an afternoon activity. (Not at all lately though thats for sure!)

But... Do people down there have rollerblades? I love rollerblading!

I actually heard you can't rollerblade inside the commons... anyone care to confirm/deny that and explain where you can rollerblade?

No that's right, you can't roller blade inside the commons but the sidewalk surrounding the commons, chatham, the church, mickey;s retreat, publix & the mall etc. is perfect for it. Not that I ever tried mind you. ;D I like having all my limbs intact. ;D Lol! ;D

If you decide to go by bike in Floria, especially in Florida you surely will be the attraction of whole orlando, as it is so un-american to drive a bike at a heat of about 40°celsius in the shadow. all americans tend to ride by car or at best by public buses. The reason might be the long distances between different places.
I have been there before several times so I know that it sometimes take you over half an hour to the next walmart, walgreens or publix. so, forget the bike-idea! :)

    Hey !
I had my bike down there when I was there. I had to keep outside chained up but I thought it was very useful just to get around and to get some exercise done as well. I know I cant live without my bike so if you are the same I think it is something to think about. Make sure you buy a cheap one though just in case it gets stolen !

Also keep in mind the bus system sucks so having a bike gives you a little bit of freedom !

Thats the only problem I have with this place... is that everything is so far apart! Omg it takes ages to get to a supermarket... where my nearest one was 20 mins away if I walked at home! and 5 mins by car. Whats the deal with all the open space? LOL
