hey! I start working mid october and I'd like to bring my iphone 4 but I'm wondering if I could buy just a mini sim card in the USA? Do they sell it without actually buying a phone? because you can't do that in my country... Overwise I'll sell it before leaving, i could use the money ;-) I know it sounds like a stupid question but please let me know if it's possible
they do exist but most people are finding the contracts that the sim comes with are quite expensive... i've heard people say in the region of $70-80 on some occasions... why not sell it and by a cheap android phone with a sim in the US so that you can still send messages home using whatsapp or ping.. and then when you have saved up a bit of money at the end of your program treat yourself to an iphone 5 sim free
ok thank you. I was hoping I could buy a payg mini sim card but I guess I have to say goodbye to my beloved iphone...
On usa tmobile you can order a micro sim for free, and choose a plan once your there, http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones...ell-phone=T-Mobile-Micro-SIM-Card&tab=reviews ;D xx
Thanks Robyn, i just checked the link but it's for a 2 years contract. Can we sign for a 2 years contract with our visa? I also found another website http://www.mysimplemobile.com/sims/unlocked-gsm-micro-sim-card# with very cheap rates
Just get one of these and you can cut the sim down to a micr-sim works a treat http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MICRO-SIM...ssories_RL&hash=item4cf8f0d677#ht_1936wt_1219
you can bring your phone and use the simplemobile sim. is a good service and you can quit whenever you want
Thanks Beethoven. I was going to do that 'cause it seems to be the easiest and cheapest way to keep my iphone other there.
I have a whole load of info on phones and SIMs in a new post: http://danatdisney.com/blog/2011/10/disney-international-programs-cell-phones-and-sim-cards/
You could opt for at&t, they now have a 50$ call, text, web unlimited plan (or stick with 10ct per minute/text and get a 25$ 500mb data package) Although they don't like iPhones on their pay as you go system. Thats why, if you get a new simcard, you'll have to activate it online with a regular phone, they will ask for the IMEI number of that regular phone. And after succesfully activating it, then you can cut it to microsim format and put it in your iphone. Then the only thing you need to do is get the correct carrier settings in your phone to use at&t's 3g.
