Internet Access USA

or even a prepaid phone, with unlimited data plan

I'm buying a MacBook Pro when I arrive on October 5th (well sometime after that when I have time). I've been hearing that theres a whole new laptop redesign coming out sometime in September, so this would be perfect timing if it happens.

I've read that the apartments have internet access, ethernet, but that some people have bought wireless routers, which makes it easier for more than one person to use the net. As for mobile internet on the go, I haven't looked into it while I'm over there... I only see me using my computer when I'm not at work... or while at college.

 

Yeah I find it strange the americans are behind the whole mobile broadband thing.

 

maybe that is not the only thing that they are behind with... ;-) ok, just kidding.

the problem is that the country is way bigger and it is nearly impossible to have good reception everywhere. There exists (afaik) no UMTS because it has even shorter range...
