What's everybody doing for insurance for the year?

I was going to go with the gateway plans thing on the leaflet we were given, but then I realised that it only covers medical problems and not baggage, so I'd have to take out a seperate insurance to cover my belongings which is far too expensive

So far the best I've found is Engsleigh. Their gap year cover seems to meet the medical insurance requirements I got from yummy jobs and they will cover baggage too. It's quoting me as just over £244 for 12 months (but then I can renew for another month while I'm in the US), which considering gateway would be $196 for four 4 months not inclusing bagge doesn't seem so bad.

So, anyone got any better deals out there, I'd love to hear them (as I'm so very poor). I've got to call Engsleigh tomorrow to double check it covers everything but other than that it should all be good.

P.S. In the info Jason sent the 4th point says 'A deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness' is a deductable the same as an excess fee?

    HI!
you only need insurance for the first 4 months then you are covered under disneys medical insurance. there is nop need to get a years coverage. As for baggage just get that seperatly its alot ceaper then having, double the insurance for the whole year cus you can only claim under one isurance. !!!!! DISNEY TAKES MONEY OFF YOUR PAY CHEQUE FOR THEIR INSURANCE !!!!!

Yeah, it's okay I figured it out. Medical I only intended to get for 4 months anyway until disneys was soorted, it was my baggage items that I was concerned with. I called Yummy though and they saud I can get renters insurance when I get there for all my stuff (even if I got travel insurance it may not be covered because I'm working not travelling) so I only need the days I'm actually on the plane, so instead of paying £300 I only need to pay £25 for the 2 days I'm going to be on the plane.

    Which rocked.

does anyone know how to get to the gateways disney page, cos the link I have just takes me to the home page, where I have to fill the application from scratch, when there is supposed to be a disney one that is partially filled out! I don't know what I'm supposed to put on the blank page and it is really pissing me off!

Does Disney still deduct money off your paycheque for insurance if you already have coverage? I assumed it would kind of be like university; prove your covered and they won't charge you for their insurance.

How did you fine it? When I went to do it it wouldn't work either so I called disney for the info that wasnnm't completed. But then they were surprised to hear it wasn't working and said they'd talk to the company so maybe they fixed it after I spoke to them?

I don't think so Jen mac, I was under the impression that the insurance doesn't kick in for 3 months *we ned a month overlap just incase) so you take out the disney policy after your other insurance with gateway (or whereever) runs out, therefore aside from the one month you don't have an overlap.

hiya, I eventually found it when I clicked on the full brochure part, their example application form had the disney stuff on it, so I printed it out and copied it in to a new online one
I hope it was the right address!

crap, that wasn't the address I put in mine. I called up Yummy and asked them what I should put and they said Jukie de Fransisco's, so I've got the casting centre address. not the international department, what should I do?

Oh, I may have fixed it. I contacted gateway plans and asked them to send a copy of the cover to me as well as disney, so if for somereason they can't find it I have it too!
