In the rooms

Hey,
I was wondering whether in the apartments you get a DVD player or will have to buy them or hire them?
I love watching films and listening to music hence the reason for me bringing my ipod but i don't think i would fit a DVD player in with the amount of stuff on my list to take!!

ok when it comes to that you are likely to get put into an apatmnet that already has people living there (its VERY unusual to be put in an empty apartment) when i got here we already had a tv but me and my rommies decided we needed a dvd player to - went to walmart and got one for $30 - between 6 of us thats nothing - dvds are SOOOO cheap here to, ive got loads, friends, sex and the city you name it we have it and if there is something you want t watch someone else is guranteed to have it, at throw outs you usually manage to get loads of cool stuff including dvds which is alwas good.
I also guarante half the stuff you bring you wont use - i brought all my heels and bags to match etc and i think ive worn heels one maybe - u LIVE in flip flops cos its jus more comfy, you buy so much random stuff here u end up wit a whole new wardrobe as well lol ;D

I think what i'm going to do is take a suitcase inside a suitcase

 

My standard is IF I DON'T WEAR IT NOW.....I am NOT BRINGING IT!!

I have ideas of WHAT will happen and I would rather throw things out and get NEW STUFF DOWN THERE the overload my luggage on the way in!!

I am bringing a set of towels with me for the first couple of days and I will bring a fitted sheet and top sheet just to tie me over till I get over to WALLY WORLD to purchase a set!!

Looking forward to the shopping as well!!

I'm so excited i've already started to shop. is that a bad thing. I live where it's cold most of the year so i need new t-shirts and shorts and .... well you konw.

well that is at least how i rationalize it!!

 

waaah I don't know what to pack, cause usually I use only half of what I bring. I think I'm gonna by a whole new wardrobe over there.

 

Thats what i'll be doing seeing as there are so many great places to shop over there!!! But i will probably over pack anyway

...you never know what you'll really wear...
so...
..just ask yourself "Would I really use this clothes???" when you're packing!!

Short skirts, t shirts and jeans.....I think that should about do it for me!! I mean HONESTLY....If I REALLY need it.....I THINK there is a bus that will take me SOMEWHERE to get it!! ;D ;D

 

you think it would make more sense for disney to just put a tv in the room

that way there wouldn't be so many people buying crap tvs and then having no use for them in a year

 

Well I have been told that you NORMALLY would move into an apartment that has people in it so you MAY be able to bargain with them as they are on the way out and you NEED one right???

Same thing for the DVD players and stereos......although they are MIGHTY CHEAP down there so you wouldn't really be loosing out if you bought one CHEAP!!

 

yea but i have a walmart 5 minutes from my house here and stuff is cheap there.. and id hate to try and haul a heavy tv all the way from florida... cost more to bring it home than buy a new one

 

I will either purchase one when I get there......OR I will buy one from the people LEAVING the building and going home!!

That way, I will have a TV and I will pass the torch when I leave!! I KNOW that I will purchase WAY TO MUCH and will NOT be able to bring EVERYTHING BACK when we leave. It is a vicious circle really.....you worry about WHAT to bring and then you worry about WHAT to take home!! ;D

This programe is for experience and learning the DISNEY WAYS!! Can you imagine I am leaving a job that pays $17 CND an hour?? I mean I am going to be making a mere $3.93 when I start serving!! Yeah sure the tips will be GREAT and THAT is what you end up living on but hey......if it was money I was looking for I would certainly STAY at the Casino!!!
We are ALL gonna be BROKE together but at least we will be having FUN doing it and WHO can really say THAT??

 

lol nope i realized long ago that it wouldn't be a money maker... but like you said im definitely looking forward to the expierience... however hopefully ill be able to stay out of the red on a whole for the trip and be able to cover all my disney purchases with my salary
