when u open ur bank acc over there, do u get a cheque book? can u transfer money from ur us acc to ur uk 1? cheers
You can have a cheque book if you pay for it and you can also transfer money for a small %age! The cheque books are cool, you can get disney designs on them! D x
Actually i think u dont need any cheque over there!! With ur debit card u can do absolutely everything u want everywhere...even pay 50 cent without problem! When I was there for the transfer the bank asked me just $9,could be more if ur bank in england charge u for recive money...just ask them!! ciao ciao
Depends lol- I opened a suntrust account and got sent 5- yes 5! cheque books. Think I may have written 1 single cheque- but I have no idea why!!! Charlotte x
Jesus all you guys think about is money!!! lol joking I think my debit card will be my worst enemy while I'm over there.
least its ur debit card n not a credit card, i'll prob transfer my money over but i still want a cool ass cheque book
suntrust have disney cheques too, som people have them but no one uses them much. doing a transfer from the UK to here is 30 dollars, a transfer from here to UK is 50 dollars. something like that. same charge no matter how much you want to transfer. that' with suntrust, which is the bank most people use as it's better than vista. some people might disagree but the majority of folk here don't go near vista because of hidden charges and the likes. suntrust also easier to get to etc and has atms everywhere in disney backstage too.
Yeah. I was with Vista and they have a lot of hidden rules. Any time you used your card they put a hold of more than you actually spent. So if you buy something else at the amount you think you have in your account but they've held some of it - the charge you an overdraft fee. I was lucky and hardly used it - just withdrew cash. A friend of mine though, had used her card on a trip. She kept a detailed book on how much she spent so she knew how much she had left to spend. Not realising that they put a hold on money that you haven't actually spent - she got hit with like 11 overdraft fees and was $330 negative. When we went to the bank we managed after a long long begging discussion to reverse the fees, and she ended up with $7 in her account as she had originally had in her book. Suntrust I would recommend as a better bank, but banks in the US will do anything to hit you with fees, and you don't really earn enough to be giving it to them. So be careful with your money. Just my 2 cents.
So which one is the Disney staff run credit union, I thought it was vista but I could be wrong. I heard that one was the way to go.
