Hey! This is my first post! I've just sent away my cv for the summer programme for next year? Has anyone else? Everyone is talking about phone interviews, is that for the summer programme or the year long programme? or both?!

    Hey

I'm going to apply for the college program for next year. Just have to redo my CV and make it look amazing lol

Do you think it'll matter that i dont have any retail experience? i mean my top choice would be life guarding cause i'm quilified for that bit incase i got stuck with something else. I have experience with the public cause i do alot of volentry work as a firstaider, do you think that counts?

Anyway hoping to keep in touch with people who are applying so that we can discuss things and worry together, lol

    hi Mhairi

Don't think it should matter that you don't have any retail experience cos I'm sure they'll train everyone up anyway! And with your lifegaurd qualification and your first aid I'm sure it would be fine. I've had a part time job in a cafe for the past four years but I would rather be in merchandise than food and beverage even though I've not got any experience of it!

I'm in edinburgh 2! let me know how you're getting on with you're application. I sent mine away a month ago and still waiting to here back!

    Hey Fiona

What part of Edinburgh are you in? At the moment i'm in Stirling cause i'm studying at the Uni but i'm home most weekends cause Stirling aint that exciting.

Thinking i should make a start on my CV soon though i'm more worried about the phone and face to face interviews - i'm not the most assertive person and i'm worried that i might come across as to shy or quiet. But then it is disney and i so want this that i think i'd do anything.

What did you put in your cover letter? if you sent one. I have no idea what to put in mine

I'm in Corstorphine at the QM uni. I'm from Fife though and go back there at the weekends cos I've got a job there.

As far as I know we dont have to do phone interviews for the college summer programme, but I mite be wrong! In my cover letter I just kinda said why I wanted to do it and very quickly summarised my CV, kept it really short though! I'm quite shy as well, but I really wanna work at Disney next summer!! I'm sure it'll be fine!

    Hi ya

Im newish too. I still havent applied yet but am planning to this weekend.

Im a little worried about how confident i will appear too. I used to be a really confident person but i have had a lot to deal with in the last year so I seem to have lost my confidence a bit ???.

But i know how much i want to do this so im giving it my best shot!
Good luck with your applications. Let me know how you get on.

Ok guys no one is as shy as me but when it comes to disney i think i'll do anything. We'll all keep each other company and motivated when the interviews happen i'm sure.

Does anyone have comformation on whether we have to do telephone interviews? Cause if we dont i think that that might be better, well for me at least.

Shellie if your going for the year then its not the College program that you want to apply for but the International Program. The college one is only for the summer.

    Hi Everyone,

I've literally just applied, sent my CV off to Yummy Jobs, so I persume it will be for the summer 2006 programme.

I applied a couple of years ago and made it to the interviews in London, but unfortunately didn't get the magic phone call!! Hopefully will have better luck this time - its the waiting that kills me, especially when you read about all the people leaving over the next few months!!

Anyway chins up and heres to making the London interviews again, wish you all loads of luck!!

    Mhairi,

Just thought I'd let you know that we do have to do telephone interviews for summer programme, I've got mine sometime this week. I've got to email Alexis back with my free times. It sounds quite relaxed and informal though, the email I got said they wanted to give me a phone to have a chat! So hopefully will go ok!

Argh i hate talking on the phone!

I sent an email off to Yummy the other day because i heard that they where doing presentations in some Uni's but they say just to send in my CV (ASAP) so i'm going to send it off tomorrow, just have to do a cover letter.

Cant believe they are doing phone interviews already considering the programs not til next summer but then again it is only 79 days til christmas lol.

Let us know how it goes and what type of questions they ask so maybe i can do abit of preparation (not that thats going to help me much).

Remember to smile! and Good Luck

Hey guys awwwww this was me this time last year!!! I just got back from the college programme August 26th so if u guys hav ne questions just ask me ;D

When i applied i sent my CV to yummy jobs, they rang me for an telephone interview which is easy just questions like why do u want to work for disney, for me as i wanted to do merchandise they asked when had i gone out of my way to help to a customer, easy stuff. Then i had a face-to-face interview which is with someone who actually works for disney and they give u presentation bout the programme which is really fun, you hav ur interview, then u get a card sayin whether ur bein considered and then lol the final phonecall!!!!

You guys hav just taken the first steps to what could be one of the most amazin summers of you life! Once uve worked for disney your life will never be the same again its amazing!!! :D Good luck to all of you and again ne questions just ask

    hey Gem!

I've applied for the college programme, got my phone interview on friday. I'm really excited! Should probably be studying just now but I've spent all day searching the internet about the programme! lol. I was just wondering what happens when you arrive in Florida? Do you have to make your own way from the airport or is transport arranged? I'll probably be back with more questions at some point! thank u!

Hey yummy jobs will arrange your flight for you and im guessin its the same but u wont b on your own which was what i was worried about but u meet people on here who will b on ur flight and in all there were 12 people on my flight so its just a case of spottin disney packs at the airport lol

When you arrive at the airport you are picked up by disney and they take you to im guessin Vista Way *sniff sniff* you new home take good care of it or i'll b over there hee hee and then you get off the coach and you find out what room u r in.

Beware the first week can b tirin as most mornings u leave Vista at 8 but u wont care as u are so excited to be in disney.

Like i said people ne questions about nefink just ask ;D Gem xXx

Sent my email off the afternoon - with my cv attached. Went away to a lecture, came back and there was an email from Yummy.

At that point i got rather excited - til i opened it and it was Alexis saying could i please send my cv again in a different format cause they couldn't open it so i had to send it again using word pad. I really open they can open that.

And here was me thinking i might of got a phone interview lol.

You guys are going to have to let me know how it goes and what you get asked ect.

Question where will you be when you get your interview? If i get mine (when i get one(hopefully) then i'm not sure where to go to take it. Stirling is not known for its mobile phone coverage. There again it might be nice to sit in the campus on a bench and watch the rabbits/sqirrals/duck running about.

I'm taking my phone interview at home in Fife, cos I don't want my flat mates in Edinburgh listening in to what I'm saying!  They might put me off! lol

Fingers crossed for u gettin a phone interview!
