I heard from Alexis today

I don't know about everyone else but I got an email from Alexis today to confirm that I'm going to be having a phone interview sometime around August. I'm really pleased to hear this news and can't wait to prove my worth. Has anyone else heard anything yet?

Don't be disheartened by that. I was told that by Alexis in November, but I didn't give up! I asked her why and she said I didn't have what they were looking for so I asked - what are you looking for? I fought my corner, I sent her about 4 e-mails in one day literally begging her to accept me to the next stage. She told me to give her a call the next day and I begged and convinced her a bit more. She gave me a phone interview due to my pestering, which I went through in January. I thought she was just giving it to me to shut my big mouth, but I got through that and had my face to face interview last month and hey presto I go to Florida in December for my year placement!

So the moral to this story is don't take no for an answer! Show that your keen and fight your corner - in a polite, diplomatic way of course!!!! But my story shows that it can pay off!

 

yeah i got the same email today saying they were unable to consider me i however did email rather apologetically asking for just a little hint at what they may have been looking for that i didn't have lol...

hells yeah we could go to the yummy jobs place and picket outside, i'll paint some signs and we'll do it lol....god damn i was so looking forward to an interview or something... I WANT DISNEY!

Try to do what littlemissdisney did and keep pestering them, if its works for her then its bound to work for you!! P.S i'm actually abit nervous about the phone interview, I would rather have a f2f anyday.

Cheers, I hope I will be, I just can't get over the idea of doing a phone interview. Does anyone know what type of question they ask so I can prepare and how long they usually take? Definatly persist and we might even have to avoid the whole campaign idea lol You never know, this time next year we could be in sunny florida ;D

hi there ... in my fone interview i got asked what i would tell an american guest about my home town ... and i stupidly said " yeah i would tell them not to go to dundee coz its crap " , ha ha im such a full , but hey i still got to f2f and am going to disney in september. so im guessing just be honest and be yourself and you should be kool ! i also got asked what i would do if somebody complaned about food and would i be comfortable shareing a room and house with other people.

I'm pretty useless at interviews (I get all nervous!) so thank you for the info Kerri Do you reckon preparing answers to common questions sounds too fake or have other people done this in the past?

 

i tryed to prepare stuff but then like you i get all nervous and end up babbeling crap anyway!! i didnt really get a chance to prepare for my fone interview as i didnt know when it was coming , i would say knowing some good facts about your country and town would be quite helpful as I knew nothing and you are likely to get asked things ... there is only so much you can prepare i supose .... be yourself and babble crap is what i say ;D
