Okay, So I'm not thinking of applying right away, but I am currently in my first year of A levels and am looking at applying for the cultural representation programme in the UK pavillion, so that I can go around Summer/Autumn 2009 after I have completed my A levels. The problem is, is that I will not be 18 until May 2009- and so I contacted Yummy Jobs to see if I can apply when I am 17. I received a reply saying that I can apply when I am 17, however they prefer for the applicant to be 18 by the time of the interviews as you have to be 18 to apply for a visa. The interviews are usually held Feb/March or Sept/Oct time. So whichever time they are held I'm kinda screwed at the whole being 18 thing. I was thinking about maybe applying around september time this year, when people start applying for UCAS. However I don't know if this is too early. So I was wondering if anyone can advise me when a good time to apply for my situation would be, and how long the whole process can usually take, and whether I should wait until May 2009 when I am 18 to apply. If anyone can help me out, that would be great Thanks Megan
That's a difficult one. I think you might be alright applying for the september one. If you do you're probably able to go earliest in july if you have to be 18 on your visa interview. It doesn't hurt to try anyway, because if it turns out to be to early, it doesn't mess up any chances of applying for the next interviews
Is there a certain amount of time before you go out to WDW that you have to have had your visa interview by? Like, roughly how long can the getting the visa process take? Thank you for the reply Oh and I watched your year in Disney Video, and It's made me want to go even more which I didn't think was possible! ;D
Officially my visa only takes five working days to come through - though this is for a J1 visa for summer ICP, so it could theoretically be kept very late, though this obviously leaves little room for error or potential delays in the visa process. Good luck with your application!
You have to do it around a month before you go I think. Last time I was there they asked me to book my apointment after january 21th I think, and I left on february 21st...
