Hey Gals and Guys, How have u been? Yesterday I got an email direct from Disney. Giving me advices on what to take. and which papers are important. But there is also information about my roll. And it includes KIDCOT!!!! I thought it was part of Merchandise!! I wanted to do KIDCOT so badly!!! I know kids sometimes can be annoying and some how unkind. but bet there are loads of nice kids around. See ya Robb ;D
i do too Rob - it sounds great doesnt it! I get to make masks... sorry help kids make masks! I love arts and crafty things - plus i bet a lot of the kids are so cute! xxx
I don't want to be a downer, but the only good thing about KidCot is the fact that you get to sit down. Other than that... I think it sucks because you have to do really boring repetitive chores while there are parents screaming at you because you aren't fast enough. The kids are screaming at you because there are no pink viking ships... And they ask you to write the child's name in Norwegian. But in quiet periods its really the best place to be...
Yeah Kidcot sounds nice until you've actually done it. Screaming kids who've been in the heat all day. Parents dragging the kids around and getting annoyed at each other. The same questions over and over again ('why do you have a dragon as your symbol', 'do you come from England', 'why do you have an accent'). And I only did it once!!!!! Still being sat down in Airconditioning was nice!
screaming kids and stressed parents wont bother me! i teach dance about four times a week so i have to deal with it all the time! xxx
Hey Gals and Guys, How have u been?? Thanks for ur replies!!! I know it can be annoying, but hey I bet it is fun to try it. Hey Tinkerbell, I think for the U.K. u have to apply in Merchandise. I do not know exactly, is because well I think I have got it because Mexico has got an attraction, as well as Norway, China, France and Canada. But dont know about other pavillions. Hey, I bet it can be fun, of course not all days will be nice pink and smooth. But it is better trying than regretting never trying it, dont ya think?? Thanks a lot Robb ;D
I really want to work in F&B and Kidcot........anyone know if this ever happens? or can you only ever do Kidcot if you're a merchie......
i am starting on the 6th of dec on f&B in th UK pavillion can i still do kidcot of was the determined when we went for the interviews. i think it will be so much fun!!!
Lol this is funny. I love Kidcot! And yeah sitting down rocks We get the characters in right next to kidcot too so we can go pounce on them. And get scarily creative by making our own masks...stapling Mickey ears on to the regular ones...for example... : And you have to be in merchandise to do Kidcot
Wear goggles if you don't want your eyes poked out by kids jabbing masks in your face, wear rubber gloves and get vaccinated for every childhood disease known to man, and get earplugs too -- not so much for the kids, but to block out parents asking "Can you write [my kid's name] in Canadian?" "What country is this? Egypt?" (Yes, someone did ask my that once.) Then kidcot's great!!!! Seriously though it was fun...in small doses!! Good times when you've got a buddy to run it with too! Favourite task was always, "Please please verify kidcot supplies and assist there until..."
KIDCOT rocks... sitting there helping kids with their masks.... kidding around making fun of them right in their faces without them knowing... just sucks when the parents are there though can be "stressful" sometimes though... loads of kids line up.. some sticking their masks in your face... but i just work in same tempo as before... so no biggie... i must be the only guy who actually enjoys sitting there yeah, some kids can be noisy and such, but it's all cool standing around in the shop with a sword in hand is also cool... looking for kids to swordfight with... i actually swordfight quite a bit... i have loads of fun at work
Yeah I've had "Is this Morroco?" "What language do you speak in England?" "Can you write my name in your language?" One child was asking his mother about the flags of the UK - she picked up the union jack and said 'no, this is the flag for England, the other ones (Scotland, Wales, N.Ireland) are the provinces" I know a poor Canadian girl who was told her English is very good lol
Ahhhh, Kid-Cot. The dreaded and most looked forward to position all at once! A place to sit down and chilax, and at the same time be hassled by parents and kids about anything and everything. I was a merchie and attractions girl, so I got to do Kid-Cot as well. Now that they've changed things around, only the Attractions cast member get to do kid-cot. I worked in Canada, and some of the worst things asked were........what language do you speak in Canada? Do you stay inside for the whole winter? And yes, I even had one lady ask me if I knew Sue from Alberta (I'm from Ontario). So if you do get to do Kid-Cot, you'll be doing the Attraction too. It's a lot of fun.....especially if there's more than one of you down there. Do some Canadian Trivia, or if it's slow do some acting. When I was there, I had four other cast members come down with me, and as I did the opening speech, I got the other cast-members to act the whole thing out. It was hilarious, and the guests really enjoyed it. You get to rotate around the positions too from greeter, to attraction theatre, to kid-cot. So most of the time you won't be in the same spot for the whole day!. Jacqueline
