Is anybody else watching the news coverage on this? and getting just a tad concerned? We have CNN on our cable so we've been watching the footage of New Orlands being evacuated and the people who can't get out being put into the stadium. They say it's going to hit land around sunrise and NO about noon. I for one will be keeping an eye on the news.

There's more coverage on the CNN website and yahoo news.

YES!!! There is nothing I love more than watching Hurricanes on CNN!!!! I watch them all. I have NEVER seen one this huge!!! I missed the three that hit Florida last year. My contract finished just two weeks before the first one, but my boyfriend was in two of them. They are sending people still in New Orleans to the SuperDome (the big stadium there), even though they aren't sure whether or not it can withstand the winds. They are already sure that the field level will flood. They have only had 3 other Category 5 storms make landfall in the US. The last one was Andrew and it completely wiped out a huge chunk of south Florida...an area that is NOT 28 feet below Sea Level like New Orleans. All I can say is that I wish I had been able to make it to New Orleans because I don't expect most of it to be there in a couple of days.

I hope Julia fared alright in Fort Lauderdale.

I've been reading about that! It's really not looking good when the city being hit needs special equipment to stop flooding on it's BEST day. I'm going to watch tomorrow for whenit hits.

  4. oh my goodness! that is so scary! I hope everyone will be okay, it hits tomorrow you say?
I'm so glad I live where there are no hurricanes....does Disney World get hit by those kind of things?

when i was at disney we had hurricane warning and they brought all chairs inside and tied the carts to the ground...in the end it was just pretty dark and a little rain, but nothing bad...it was just a little creepy since the park was all empty as it was the weekend after 9/11...but seeing the pictures on tv now is just horrible! it's getting worse by the hour! it must be sheer horror for the people trapped in the city!

Disney had 3 of them blow through there last year. I left July 31st and the first one hit two weeks after that, the second basically this time last year and one more mid-September just after my boyfriend left.
