Hi everybody ;) I need some help and advice about a problem with my departure.
Yesterday I found out that my graduation's been delayed from September to December 2011. The trouble is... I'll leave for Orlando on 6th December, one week before graduation :'(
So, there seem to be two options: graduating in 2013, when I'll come back from Florida, or take 5 days off (back.to-back), return to Italy for my graduation in March 2012 and then back to the US again. I know it's almost impossible, but I'm not enthusiastic at the idea of paying university fees for another year :-[

In the meantime, I've sent an e-mail to International Services, asking about the possibility to change my departure date, which I think is impossible :(

So... what would you say? Do you think I'd better give up the idea of graduating in 2012 and wait until the end of my CRP? I'm so depressed, really having no idea of what to do :'(

i'll be honest i barely remember any of my graduation... i went, walked across the stage, had photos taken with family and then they drove off and i went back home... yeah it's a nice occasion and saying bye to friends and what not but it's over before you know it... why don't you try to find costings for flights and see how much it would work out for... see what it would cost you to graduate next year and work out which you'd prefer... and in the meantime just hope international services change your date

As far as I'm aware, once you have accepted your position and date you can't change it. But - you've done the right thing by asking, there could be a possibility. I've read once that someone changed their date; trading it with someone else. I have no idea if that's true. Let us know how you get on.

As far as I am aware they take each situation on its merits so to speak, so if they felt it was important to give you another date and they could do it, they would probably try. However, they could give you any date even months and months after the date you had

sorry to here that, but it is very rare they change any dates. (no concilation i know!) Is it worth not going to Disney for one day? also i know alot of people who take 5-8 days off to go home for medical reasons,or to see family, so you could definately go for the graduation in March, its more the cost then the hassle i imagine. Theres always a way round it :) x

No, I'm not doubtful about going to Disney, I WILL go for sure! :D
I just don't know whether to delay graduation until March 2013 (which means paying fees for more than a year, really really expensive) or come back to Italy in March 2012, graduate and then return back to the US. The second solution would be the best, in my opinion, but I hope I won't get any problems in having 5 or 7 days off. Anyway, if you say that
, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope I'll be as lucky as those people :)

If your graduation's over a weekend, you shouldn't have any problems, if you get a back to back and an ADO, that's 5 day's right there. Plus, the Italian pavilion get their day's off approved through their managers so they get time off a lot easier.

My Italian roommate had a back to back every month, whereas we had to put all our time off through the HUB and it was left down to scheduling, off in an office of Disney somewhere, to grant it or not...hence we were only allowed a back to back once every 3 months or so.
