    Heya,

I just got a call from Yummy and I have been transfered to HRC annoyingly, has anyone off here worked with them before? ??? I know we dont get a maingate but michele did say there was a rising pay scale to $8.50 an hour , which seems reasonable.

How exactly is it different? Do we still get to use the hub to book hotels like other CMs? Do we get Christmas tickets at all?

    Any input much appreciated.

Its the Historical Research Center... basically it makes personalised items with peoples family tree on them I believe! I think I know why I got it.. probrably because im an Archaeologist.. that might be it. It seemed to impress Kim but I guess.. and this does seem sensible her thought trail went.. Archaeologist - Historical Researcher - Would probrably find historical research society interesting. I guess it does mean I probrably would be able to talk more history stuff.. and it is a break from sitting in a muddy ditch trying to justify research grants on the basis of sherds of pot.

Anyway.. it will be fun I am sure!

Yes, its in the UK Pavillion, it just means you only work in the one shop that sells like coat of arms related things.

hi, i work in HRC, its not part of disney, its a partipant, its got its benifits, but also a bit rubbish that we dont get the same discounts as disney. Disney are very strict, but in HRC its not that much the disney managers dont bother with us, we do pay more rent which is annoying, and we do start on $7 an hour, it goes up after time depending on performance etc. When are you arriving here?

It has its pro's and cons, working in HRC.

The Historic Research Center does the history of the last name. Not someone's family tree. This is something you will have to continually argue with guests about, who claim 'that's not my family'. It's just the earliest records that the company has on its database. Some guests are very nice and apprecitive that they found anything on their name and others are rude, but you find that anywhere you work at Disney. Not every guest is happy.

The pay is slightly more to compensate for paying higher rent.

Instead of working in one shop on your own and then moving to another shop as you would for Disney, in HRC you are in the same shop for all of your shift, and you normally work with at least one other person.

    Shifts are usually:
    Opening - 10.30 am - 5.30pm
    Mid - 12.30pm - 8.30pm
    Close - 3.30pm - 9.30pm

Then there are other shifts for extra magic hours and if there is more than 3 people working that day. It is definitely a lot more fun to have someone to talk to when the stores are quiet with no guests.

Generally you get a 30 minute break - even if you work 8 hours! Thats the part I didn't like. Working for Disney the year before on a Q1, I knew that with Disney you would get more breaks.

That's all I can think of right now.

If you want any more info just ask.

Ellen and I worked there together. Ellen on the Q1 and I was there on a J1 for 18 months. I know Danny is there now so some stuff might be different but I doubt it.
