    Hey Guys

I am bringing around $1600.00 US. I think that should be good to last me a couple months for extra fun

    I'll bring $1,500...

IMHO $500 might not be enough.

Make sure you take enought as they charge you a weeks rent when you get there, as well as take two weeks rent out of your pay in your third week. I was paid $20 and pretty buggered for the rest of the week

so far i have saved $5000 CAD and still have 4 pay cheques left one of them is after iv been in florida for 2 weeks as they are behind in paying by 2 weeks so by the tim eim down there i should have $6000- $7000 depending on how much i shop before i arrive and weather i take my trip to NYC with the girls in august. So what left is goign towards all things disney, apartment stuff, a surfboard and at least skydiving once. OOOo and gas money for driving down.
Iv gone crazy on saving since May and havnt gone out drinking which normally takes up all my money.

So excited to go to florida

    Hey guys,

I would suggest bringing at least $1000. It will make the first couple weeks more comforatble for you cause you do not get paid until your second week here. And it is amazing how much you have to buy when you first get here. And then there is the booze runs that set you back too :p

I've saved about 3500 $, and probably bringing 200 $ in cash for the rent and food the first couple of weeks...?!

But are any of you guys thinking about getting an an account and bankcard at an american bank when you get over there? I think maybe that will save me a lot of money. I can use my norwegian bankcard for special things like travel and some shopping, and the american one for ordinary things like food, then I hopefully don't use all my money at once ;)

    Ever the true alcoholic!!!!

Most people spent about $400-500 in their first week.....it sounds a lot but you'll be so excited and everything is so new you won't want to have to worry about how much you're spending!! and just a word of advice, if you bring a lot and decide to put it in your bank account, make sure you hold a substantial amount back in case your ATM card takes ages to come.....with mine, they got my address wrong so I never got it and was surviving on $1.50 for about a week!!!

Most of the stuff you'll need money for in the first week is food and bedding...as well as the $70 assessment fee you have to pay when you get here, and if you're paying straight away, you'll need all the money for your flight!

Definitely take into account that you'll have so much fun when you get here, money is not something you wanna have to worry about....you will probably become a bit spend silly!!! :D

    Yes, Anne
I'm gonna open up an American bank account, as using my Norwegian Visa would cost a fortune......
Will open an American account, transfer all my money to that one, and close down my Norwegian one.... ;D

If I get my £225 tax rebate it will give me just under $400 more to add to my money, meaning I'll be taking $900 with me instead of $500, I would feel so much better with that.

I'm just going to bring as much as I can possibly save up in time!!! I want to pay for my flight as soon as I get there so I wont have to worry about that all yr till it's payed off. Then any extra cash I can go travelling with.... if any one wants to come ;) ;)
