I remember somewhere it was posted. I got a long time to go but I plan on seeing if our Doller can get up there and the moment it does get some travlers cheques for when I go. I just cant remember what the recomended money is. So from anyone who has been there before how much do you recomend anyone new arriving bring with them for when they arrive.

Disney says around $2-400, but if you don't want to be completely broke there, bring more. It's enough for first groceries but not much more...

I plan to take quite a lot... more than necessary in fact just to give me the option to have some fun trips away (to Nassau and New York etc.) and then to know i'm never going to be short of money.

But I think for just essentials... i'd aim for $500-$800. The larger amount in case I have to buy a tv and then at least you know you're covered if you have to buy work shoes and such.

Yeah, and if you want to go to parks like Universal, Busch Gardens or Sea World early you need ekstra cash too. Because you should get an annual pass there so you can go back again.

Hehe, you don't use that much on wallmart, but you might want to do other stuff to, and stuff costs money ;)

  7. I am taking around £300 worth of doller which I think is about $550 and more if I have enough money left when I have finished this term.

You might need to buy shoes, and you might want about $600 because of the rent increase

And don't buy the cheapest shoes you find! Remember you'll be on your feet for hours, so you need comfy shoes! I recommend the outlet store at the mall next to the commons! They have some really nice Dr.Scholl shoes there and they don't get broken very fast either! I wore mine for over 6 months as a server and they still looked new under the sole... And if you're in f&b make sure it's a non slippery sole!

I'm just planning on saving up lots of money and just bringing whatever I have with me. Be it a thousand dollars or whatever.
I'd like to be able to live well and not to have to ever worry about money.

I took 600 last year and it was enough, but I think I'm going to take more this year. One thing for me was I didn't have to cash any paycheques til I ran out! I took mostly travellers cheques. I'm going to take probably 800-1000 with me this year.

My dad actually bought me an annual pass for Universal already, so thank goodness for that lol...I'll probably be taking about $500 as well, but I'm not sure if I'll need it all...We're driving down so it's a bit better that I can take more stuff with me! :) Yay for saving money!

I got some Dr Scholls and they were fine for the entire time I was there (although I did wear Timberlands at the Jungle, but I still often had to wear my other shoes!). As for non slip....well mine said they were, but I worked in the ice cream parlour on main street, and when you're scooping ice cream the floor gets really wet (because of having to rinse the scoops!) and we slipped all over the place. Highly hilarious but probably not safe LOL.

Is there a particular kind of shoe that they make you wear or is it any black show pretty much?
I have a bunch of black shoes but I think I'll probably just end up buying some down there because I'm afraid that they won't be the right ones.....I think I know the mall you're talking about though so shouldn't be too hard to find a decent pair.
