Hey hey kristen As soon as you start working for the cruise line you ll understand that there is nothing typical... it can be anything from a week to a year.... so for the moment enjoy real food free time and going out at night..coz as soon as you start, those are the things you ll be missing, but instead great times, great people!! ah i m sure you re excited, just be patient!! and congrats for getting the job! ZPS
Thanks Stranger, I havent gotten the job yet....just interviewed. It cant hurt to dream about it though. I dont really worry about the not gong out and such. After the International Program I havent done much of that anyways. I hear the wait can vary. Im scared to think it could be a year before I go. I hope its not that long. Thanks for your help with the answer though
I was in a queue for a merch position a couple of years back. From finding out i'd got the job it took 6 months before a position came up - my word of warning is don't put your life on hold - other interesting opportunities may come up in the interim!
I had my interview around the middle of September, 2002, found out I had the job around a 2 weeks later then waited until the end of February, 2003 before I left for the ship! Merch is a very small department so it does depend on people leaving. The ship does have a high turnaround though so don't give up hope!!! ;D Laura.
