hey there, for those who have already had their visa appointment, how long did it take between the appointment and getting your forms back? ive found flights for 3 days and 5 days before my start date, at the mo it looks like the only flights im gonna be able to afford, but am a bit reluctant to book them incase i dont get my passport back in time. any help would be awesome, and speedy replies would be even better thanks for any advice you can give xxx
Hi Karritada For my case in Bangkok, Thailand. I had an appointment on 11 Mar 09 at 0800. My interview finished at around 0900 on 11 Mar. I got my passport with visa back to me on 12 Mar in the afternoon by the express post. I think it depends on each Embassy in each country.
yeah from what i've heard britain isn't that efficient in comparison. not just visa wise, generally. i mean, busses...haha. only kidding of course, i'm proud of my country, but every country has it's downfall
From the London embassy last spring it took three days after the visit for the passport to be returned (visa accepted on the spot on interview day).
I had my interview on the tuesday, got them back on the thursday & flew on the friday! They send you a text message the day before they will deliver your passport which I got on the wednesday evening so I booked my flight straight away. If I remember correctly it was delivered just after midday. They were pretty spot on to be fair.
That was cutting it a bit fine. I hope to have mine a few weeks before leaving because i'm all booked up the week before leaving
We got our appointments a lot later than most due to the embassy/yummy being closed over christmas & the new year, I think they normally sort it out a lot earlier. My visa interview was only a week before my start date!
