How easy it actually was to get accepted

I'm amased at what I read, like alot of people didn't get accepted, alot of you are on the waiting list and some of you have been re-applying up to 3/4 times.

I applied, went to the interview and was accepted, along with 67 other people out of the 70 who attended the interview and presentation, didn't seem hard at all to me. Also this was in Norway.

Is it really like what I read, or was it like 15000 applicants and only 100 available positions???

I would imagine a lot of it is down to the sheer amount of applicants there are in each country. If they have 30 positions and 35 people apply, then your chances are pretty good lol. I think the volume of applicants in Canada and the UK seems to be higher

In the U.k it was a 1 in 10 chance of getting through the phone interview and then a 1 in 3 chance of geeting through the interview. Thats what I was told anyway, not much consolation since I got through the phone but not the proper interview ha

Actually, in Norway there have been very few applicants. Probably because of growing tensions between the States and Europe, that's my theory. And maybe also because, as a Norwegian, you have many more rights and a much higher pay rate in Norway than in the States. I got accepted for the job as well and I'm an ex-castmember. And I was shocked to see the amount of underage people at the interview. Guess I'll be an old Norwegian when I get there...

    To JoRdAnA and Tinkerbell

That's what sucked, I got this e'mail saying I was accepted/chosen to participate in the program, but they didn't give me a departure date. So I asked Noëllie, the recruiter over here, when it was most likely that I could leave. She said it could be weeks or even a year. So I don't know what I'll be doing either. I'm an IP

Glad you were accepted, see you over there, one time or another...
    U both Canadian???

so you got accepted a second time? how cool is that? i would love to go back and thought about reapplying but i guess it's a little harder here in germany...i guess i was pretty luck the first time being accepted right away...plus i guess it would be kinda difficult with university at the moment! but good luck to you and even more fun!!

Didn't think you could go back a second time. :-\ Not sure if i'd really wanna do the same program again anyway, trying to recapture old memories etc. But i really want to get back out there somehow. :'( ;D

Got back at the end of aug. last year. Back in Glasgow at uni doing a post grad cert. of education in maths. Got an assignment due in in 2 hours and still 1000 words to go. :'(

Hating it though. I need a very big, strong injection of pixie dust back into my life. I need the mouse. I'm hoping to try for the cruise. It's not exactly what I want but it's as close as it seems possible to get.

Why weren't my parents American. Grrrrrrrrrrr. ;D

    Hey there,

well I've always been told that everyone has a 50/50 chance of getting in and I'm starting to belive that number might be lower. I mean, considering the East coast interview were only offering 36 positions and Eric from Castaway told me there were 108 applicants combine with Toronto/Halifax/Montreal. So I think anyone that gets in should feel lucky considering they beat out 72 other people. That's a huge margin of people not getting accepted.

Some people get in and alot don't get in. The answer to your question, no it's no easy but that also shouldn't stop someone to either apply or re-apply for the program. :) No matter what the odds are!

    There's my two cents :)

In my own experience it was kinda easy, I really felt confident in the interview (I almost knew the job was mine), the interview with Julie and Bill (the manager of the mexican restaurant) went perfect.

I think the worst part for me was the telephone interview, I dunno why... I just felt totally nervous because of the language and my answers.

    Good luck!

Yeah I'm doing the same program over again, hopefully I'll stay longer this time. Usually it isn't possible, but I got a lucky break. Yeah, I'll just call it that. But I did struggle a bit...
