this is to any one how can help me can ppl tell me how easy is it to work with dollars. i am from the uk i have ever only worked with pounds. sarah
it's pretty easy.. even though they're the same size and color but they have different dead presidents on them the 1 looks like it always has, like the others looked like before.. the 5 just got a makeover.. so easier to tell apart the 10 is not used as much as the others... the 20 is the most common one.. the coins are pretty easy to tell apart... so no worries
i used to be really bad and only use notes when i was over there cos i wasnt sure what was what with the pennies so i just ended up with looooads, make sure u dont do that or you'll have more coins in ur purse/wallet than they keep in banks lol
At first you might be iffy but a few weeks with it youll be fine dont forget most prices havent got tax on
It becomes so easy...my first role was QS F&B (on Main Street) and my first proper day of work was spent on the registers. By the end of the day I was having no problem. I actually became a member of the MSN (Main Street North) 100 Club for making over 100 transactions an hour (113 to be exact). So I wouldn't worry... You soon get used to where everything is and how everything works.
What I remember people having trouble with was what the different denominations of the coins were.. so just remember Penny = 1 cent Nickel = 5 cents Dime = 10 cents Quarter = 25 cents and you hardly ever see half dollars and dollar coins you don't even have a slot for them in the register people also had problems telling the different Nickels apart.. as the us mint has issued about 5 different designs over the past few years... and the quarters as well... this is the last year they'll be giving out state quarters... so it'll be 51 different designs out there.... but they're all the same size.. and president Washington is on all of them..
There pretty easy to get to grips with, alot like Uk money I find, after a few holidays there Im flying with it now! So much nicer than the Euros lol!
