I am thinking of applying for a job at Disney land after my A-Levels for a gap year before University. I was just wondering how difficukt it is to get in and I want to know what they are looking for. Any tips on how to approach them? Thanx ;D
They are looking for a fun, happy, enthusiastic person, who will give guests the best possible treatment. How hard it is to get in really depends. Here in Norway it was very easy, barely enough applicants to fill the positions. But I've heard that in the UK it can be a bit more difficult as there are much more applicants then available positions. I don't know how one would approach them in the UK, but over here we just sent in an application, and were called in for a presentation and interview later on. This site offers some help on how to contact them. http://www.disney.go.com/DisneyCareers/wdwcareers/international/apply.html
Hi Maz, Im from Uk going in 7 weeks! Contact yummy jobs as they recruit the email addy is enquiries@yummyjobs.com i think thats the right e mail! It is totally possible to get through sure theres a lot of competition like any job. Like Celephais said they're looking for customer oriented happy people! Theres quite a few doing the program as a gap year. Just e mail your cv to yummy (uk recruitment agency) if they like what they see they'll offer u a phone interview. If u get through that you'll be thru to the face to face interviews in november for positions starting march - june 06... i think if its like it was this year! Best of luck xxx
From when I applied, until when I arrived, it took me 2 years!!!! I was wait-listed from the spring interviews and accepted when I went to the fall interviews, but didn't arrive until the following July...then again...I know a girl who pretty much applied in like September, interviewed late October and arrived the beginning of December!! We interviewed the same day in the fall and she was almost done her contract when I finally arrived! As for what they're looking for, it's more personality than resume. I had finished school and had a decent resume, whereas the girl who interviewed with me had only done high school and worked at McDonald's. She arrived a month after me. My advice is to apply VERY early. It's better to be told that you are too early to apply for when you want to go than to be told you are too late!! Shan
