Where is it cheaper to live? The Commons or Patterson Court?

  2. I am assuming the Commons is cheaper because it is older, but not sure for certain. You won't have a choice where you live though, you will just be placed wherever there is space.

I know I don't have a say in where I want to live, but still I've heard that there's no laundry machine in the apartments in Patterson court and you have to pay to get your laundry done. So I'm thinking, it's got to be cheaper living in Patterson than the Commons. This is just based on something I read at another forum. where they said that the commons apartments have a laundry machine and that the patterson ap. don't.

This is what i've just found on this very site although it's about 4 years out of date, i understand that the Commons are still the most expensive as is around the $100 now

When I used to be there, it depended which apartment you lived in. Lowest price for vista was $75 when I left. Someone told me that patterson was like $99 a week! Im pretty sure that patterson is the most expensive. Hopefully there will be someone on here who has lived at patterson? Although I think that there won't be many, as im not even sure if all the blocks have opened yet.

I no that some apartments were like $10 more than the others, even if they were in the same complex, just because of the size of them..

I live in a 2 bedroom so 4 person apartment in the commons and the weekly rate is $99. I hope that helps sort it out a tad.

Ah cool, maybes Patterson and the Commons are similar prices then

  8. When I left, only 2 blocks of patterson were open and I think it was about $110 or so a week. But I know they have also put prices up since we left as chattham used to be $80 and is now nearer $90.

I personally love love LOVE the Commons... its where the majority of the CRP's are. It has a washer and dryer in the individual apartments which makes clean clothes so much easier.

i know its not your choice but i think id like to stay at the commons, think it would be really good having the washing machine in your appt. if you get put somewhere where your not happy, is there a chance you can get moved? x

It is possible to move appartements if you're unhappy with the situation you're given. You can do a straight swap with someone if they're willing to swap with you (if its that bad will people be willing to swap?). Otherwise you have to wait about 3 weeks, then request a change at a cost of $50 (as of Summer 08). I think you can request who you're moved in with, but depending on the time of year and how busy appartements are depends on how flexible they can be for you - unlikely to get a 1 bed/2person appartement to move into at any time of the year unless you're lucky. Requesting a move to another housing complex may be more difficult. If there are serious issues with your current appartement and you have valid reason to complain then you could be moved without the 3 week wait or $50 fee, but it would have to be serious and not just an annoying habit.

Of course during your program you may be asked/forced to switch appartements (for free) if some people in your appartement are leaving so they can clean it out and give it fresh to a new set of arrivals rather than put new people in with those who have been there a while, though this can often happen too.

How is Patterson? Is it quite? Are the apartments bigger than the apt at the commons or chatham? How is the gym at patterson? do u find Q1, all internationals and american people living there or is it only for Q1's? do you already have a bus stop at patterson or u have to walk all the way to the chatham bus stop?

99% of the time we're in The Commons and there's not really a choice. For rent take about $110 to cover yourself a week

2 Bed, 3 person..So does someone have there own room?

  20. Within the Disney complexes it isn't possible to have your own room unless there is a spare bed in your apartment which are usually quickly filled as there are always people leaving/arriving.
