Hey guys, just wondering if anyone can offer me some suggestions.

I've got a phone interview in August and the accompanying e-mail said that departures would start February onwards.

Now my friends and myself have booked a holiday in October (this year), however due to a rather big issue we need to move it towards February, March time.

So providing of course that I do get the job and I am selected for an early fly-out this would be a problem, would Disney let you suggest to have a later start out date? Because I would hate not to get the job because the holiday was in the way. (as this did happen to me before).

Ironically the holiday is actually Disney World :D

Usually when you get the face to face they will ask you when you want to start, just be honest and tell them you can't start until April and they should be fine.

Indeed, it shouldn't be a problem. Folks have to specify ealiest start dates for many reasons (for me, it was my grad). There is actually a section on the application form at the interview specifically asking your earliest available start date.

    No worries. :)

i'm also in the same group of interviewees as you are. August seems a decade away ::) !!! Oh well, I'm sure if you say you can't start until a certain date they shouldn't have a problem but I tend to think that it makes myself look picky to the interviewers and I'm all out on making a big impression. Roll on August....

I was in somewhat of the same situation. My friends and I wanted to plan a vacation after college graduation, but I was applying for WDW, so we waited to book.

Thank god, because I got the job. For me, this job was number one priority. I can take a vacation anytime.

If they do ask when you can start, do NOT say that it has to be delayed due to a vacation. Just say you have a personal obligation that must delay the start date until March (or whenever). If you say that you are putting off the chance to work at WDW so you can take a vacation, I guarantee you they won't look at your application a second time.

Try to convince your friends to either take the vacation as early in Feb as you can..... or, ask your friends to do what my friends did --> they waited until I finished my contract at WDW, and THEN we all went on our vacation!!
