Hi Guys, I've going to Disney to work for the historical research centre and so far I've not found anyone that works there or is going to work there or been there and so i'm writing this post in the hopes that i can find someone. If anyone has been or kne someone who worked for the HRC will you let me know? I'm curious about just how different it will be compared to everyone esle, I've heard its notas good? Hopefully hear from someone soon Lauren x
not done it but know people who have - your working for a particpant company not disney itself - this translates to slightly different rates of pay, and different accomodation costs (think its more expensive for you) and im not sure but i dont think you get the same benefits package offered i.e. insurance and stuff you do however wear the same costume as the merchies
there's also not as many of you either... I think only about 5 or 6 at a time there working in it from who I can remember working there before. spider is right, there's a different rate of pay and different accomodation costs. You don't get disney benefits like park entry for family/friends (but you get yourself in). It's because you aren't hired by disney. A lot of the pavillions have participating companies that run either parts of merch or the restaurants (morroco and italy I think are both participating restaurants... though italy changed so it might be disney now) and so it's a bit different when it comes to them but you can try asking for people who have worked for 'participating companies' for advice?
i remember being offered tegh HRC job and i turned it down just because i didnt like the ideaof not being employed by Disney-i now realise the difference was minimal, but still, i was going to work at Disney-i wanted to be employed by Disney!
The first big difference will be most people wont have a clue what your talking about when you say where you work. So get ready to explain it a fair bit . And as the others say its not much of a difference though you will mostl ikely make more than those of us actually employed under Disney. France was/still is (i assume) a participant restaurant and food area. My roomates when I was there made 9 bucks an hour (as oppose to 7.50). However they also worked a TON of hours as that part isnt as well controlled by Disney and might not be at all due to them being participants
Participants may earn more per hour but they also pay more rent for housing so at the end of the day they may not actually be any better off!!!
True, but like I said I found people who are participant work longer hours. My roomates were regular putting in 50+ where as I was 35-40
servers always seem to work longer hours - hrc has set shifts i think - similar to merch where u tend to work just your set hours and not get forcibly extended which can and does happen in fnb
yeah have to admit that F&B were always the last out, i dont think HRC worked aslong as us....maybe some of the other participant servers worked long hours but thats the same as those disney servers working long hours.......
