I'm new. I am from Hong Kong. I'm 1 of the participants of International College Programme. I am gonna Florida on 6th June. I will work in F & Beverage in summer.

I wanna meet people who are gonna work in F & B too.

Ya, 4 times. I love it there. It's so different from where I live. Only wish it had snow in the winter like I get up north. (not going to happen)

 

Wow. YOu have been Florida for 4 times. You must be very familiar with the place. I wonder if participants have time to go downtown to go sightseeing. Actually, how many days do we have to work?
How long does it take to go from Disney to downtown area? Is there any shops selling cheap but beautiful clothing [ T-shirt is ok]. haha. If there is NO such shop, I won't expect to buy clothing in Florida. I will rather buy them in HOng Kong. A short or a skirt only cost HK $ 40 overhere [1 US= 7.9 HK]

In the resume, I chose to work Operations. Working F & B is my 2nd choice. I love greeting guests. I wonder why the Disney didn't assign me to work Operation. Is there any criteria working Operation?

 

We work 5 days and get 2 off a week is what I have come to understand. Downtown Disney is like 10 Minutes away from the commons and across the street from Vista way. (I think) And you will see Hundreds of shops selling so much Disney stuff you will get sick of it. Downtown Disney has HUGE stores full of Disney items but there all at Disney prices. If you drive outside of Disney in any direction you’re bound to find some sort of store with Disney stuff cheap.

You might not of got the job in operations because It was already full. I managed to get into that role because my school was one of the earlier schools that Disney interviewed. But any job at Disney is going to be good.

 

Yes. I agree that I will sick of seeing THOUSANDS of shops selling Disney stuff. Actually, i wanna get some souvenir of Florida for my friends[ not those DIsney stuff]. I wanna go outside Disney to have a look. haha. I don't know if I will get bored to stay in Disney when I have day-off.
Thanks for tellin me that Disney is ONLY 10 minutes away from the commons. I really wanna go outside Disney to have a LOOK at Florida.
We work ONLy 5 days. God. How can I cover the costs of RENT, FOod, Accessment Fee, Air line Tickets [ I guess it costs about US $1,500 for ROUND-tickets. I don't know]

Do you know how many hours do I have to work in order to cover the costs?

 

You get a minimum 30 hours and you will just get by after paying the bills and paying for food and stuff. They will schedule you for 40 hours when the parks have alot of people. Also there is a web site for cast members to go onto and pick up extra hours in the area they work in so you can get as many hours as you can humanly work I guess.

I'm Helen from the U.K and will be going to Florida in Dec to work in Merch,which is usually in the shops selling all the disney products and things.
I have been to Florida about 6/7 times now and just love the place ;D ;D so I thouight it was time for me to get a job there!!
There are loads of places to shop to get non disnet stuff too, over the road from where we will be staying is the premium outlet which is fantastic for shopping ;D

Wow. France . It is such a great country. I'd love Europe. I've been longing to visit European countries. I love the beautiful castles and churches there. I know there are LOADS of beautiful castles in France.

Thanks for telling me where I can buy NON-disney stuff. Could you plz tell me the name of the shop. Wow. You have been there for so MANY times. I have NEVER been to Florida. Could you introduce me good places to go, cheap shops to stop by, cheap cafes or restaurants to have my lunch and dinner. Oh yes. What is the MUST -Buy stuff and Must-Eat stuff in Florida?
