Hey Chris Good luck! You don't need to include the application form from here- cv and covering letter is great! Make sure you really push any tourism/hospitality experience you have, they really look for that from the UK because competition is huge. Best of luck! Charlotte x
if you have included the application form from here don't worry at some point they send you the same form out to fill it in again, well thats what happend to me ;D Helen xx
Yeah we had to fill one out at the interview! Good luck to all who are about to send thier stuff off...the ball finally gets rolling then! J. xx
Cheers for the help guys it seems to have worked. I've got a phone interview in Feb, any advice on that would be gratfully recieved. (dont want a lot do I :) Now just got to wait ??? Chris
Three most important things about the phone interview... 1: Be yourself-that's who they're looking for! 2: Be honest. If you're into upsidedown parachuting crochet, tell them. Don't presume they'll think you're weird or something. This is essentially "be yourself" again. I feel so unoriginal 3: SMILE!!! When you smile, the intonation of your voice changes and you sound friendlier. It sounds stupid, but SMILING over the phone is the most important part of your phone interview! Good luck! Kev
I’d echo what Kev has said SMILE and be YOURSELF are definately the main points to consider. Also have a think of what questions they might ask you (you’ll find some clues on these boards somewhere) and maybe jot down a few rough answers and have them in front of u just in case u have a momentarily lapse and freeze during the interview. Best of luck ;D
Yeah Jess is right, the interviewer cant see you, so having some written notes won't do you any harm. Take advantage of it, because i can remember the night before our face 2 face i was sat in the hotel room thinking if only it was like the telephone interview!!! J. x
heya, just been reading this thread and im a bit confused.... i applied to yummy jobs online, which involved just attaching my CV and putting comments on a short form, along with personal details.. in the "comments" section i put a short paragraph about why i want to work at disney and why i think i would be suitable for the programme, but nothing in great detail. Is this little form the "cover letter" that people have referred to, or do i have to post a cover letter and CV at a later date? have i messed up?
Hi Jilly, Thats all I did when i applied, you should get a reply acknowledging your application, but Alexis and Jason (from Yummy) are in Florida so you might not get a reply until Tuesday. Good Luck with your application, if there is anything else you need to know just let me know Love H
oh thanks very much H!! phew!! also, on here ive read about the ratio of applicant to actual people accepted for the ICP but what about for the year long program? is it just as competitive? i sooooooooo want to do this so much, but now im panicking that my cv maybe wasnt very good :-[
Hi, not sure about the ratio, but i had to send my cv twice before i got thru, i was interviewed in November with about 20 or maybe 30 others but there were other interviews destinations too and i found out last week that i leave on March 28th. So even if you don't get through this time (not saying you won't) but if you keep trying the magic will happen
I would say that if you've trawled through wdwip.com and these forums then you're in a much better position than most. Afterall, you know (vaguely-obviously your interview questions will be different) what's going to be happening and what to expect. That means you can be a lot more calm, cool and collected going into your interview and you know that you have to REMEMBER TO SMILE in both interviews... Basically, I would suspect that being more educated about the process and WDW would stand to you during your interviews (after all, they're more likely to hire a friendly person who loooooves WDW/Disney than someone who was pretty bored looking throughout the interview and doesnt particularly care about the place... I'm sure you'll be fine! Just smile, be honest and be yourself!!! That's what they're looking for! Not CV stuff, not work experience, not awards-they wont be working for WDW-you will be! Be you and they'll want you!!! And again, remember to SMILE!!! Kev
yep all i can do is keep my fingers crossed and hope i get thru!! u must be sooooo excited H...im excited at the thought of going and ive only just sent my cv!
