Hey, i know we have to wear business wear for a couple of days the first week. I was just wondering for girls can u get away with wearing the smart city style shorts, or smart cut off trousers? Or does it have to be dress/trousers/skirt. Also say you wear a skirt/city shorts...do you have to wear tights or can you get away with bare legs? Do we have to wear heels, or can we get away with flats? And finally do we have to take a business jacket with us, or formal suit? I'm panicing with the pakcing! This has prob been asked before, but how many days do we wear the business stuff for, and what is the first thing we wear it for? Help would be much appreciated!!! Stef xx (9 days left!!!)
From what I can remember (and I wish I had my Disney Look Book to check) and unless they're changed the rules, it's either trousers or skirt. Nothing in between. It's literally business formal. You might be able to get away with anything else, but I know of people in my arrival group were told to change. As for tights, if you're wearing a skirt you MUST wear them. This goes for work too. Shoes can be heals or flats, but business wear kinda shoes, not going out ones! In other words you can't show your toes or heels. The days you wear business attire depends on you location. I'd imagine for the UK pavilion it's Traditions and Discovery Day, but I know I had to wear mine more for attractions. We generally wore our business attire when we felt we needed to, or weren't sure...and soon became known as the best dressed Brits amongst facilitators
In worst case scenario you can borrow clothes from costuming when you're at Disney U or anywhere near costuming. My pants wasn't approved on one of the days at Disney U and I got to borrow some at costuming there. But a friend of mine wore sneakers and she was sent home because they didn't have any shoes to borrow her... But the best is to wear something you know will be accepted! For most CRP's you have a few days of meetings at commons, going to social security and so on, and there you don't have to wear business clothes, so you'll have some oportunity to ask the people there what's accepted and not.
You'll get the disney look book before you go too, so that should clear any questions up. Plus we got a sheet saying what bus to get and what time our traditions group was (there were morning and afternoon groups) and on the back it said what was and wasn't acceptable.
