    Hey Guys!

I'm trying to find out the dimensions for the beds in the commons. I wanna buy a duvet set here in the UK, but I need to know what sizes they are.

If anyone can help that would be great. I remember somebody saying they had this info.

    Have a magical day!

Someone told me that they're slightly larger than UK single beds, so UK sheets might not fit (or if they do it'll be tight!)...but I don't know the exact dimensions!!

Just looked on John Lewis website and their sheet dimensions for a fitted sheet are bigger than those that Bryan pointed out....so the beds in the commons must be smaller, not bigger, than the single beds we have here...does that make sense?? but the flat sheets at John Lewis are smaller....so I've totally confused myself and everyone else...I apologise and probably shouldn't have said anything in the first place! ::)

hmmm .... well I didn't take linen out with me (much easier just to buy a cheap set in Walmart) but my parents did bring a set out for me from the UK when they came to visit. They fitted fine. ??? How random.

I found american comforters are slightly wider.
U can use them without a duvet cover which i didnt realise when i bought it so mines a boring denim look... but i put a uk duvet cover over just had to fold it a little one side to fit...

Dave dont worry im a ditz too! Me and my mates call it ditsy intelligent lol!

It's a "dyne", as we call it up here in Norway....
Anyway, this is the Merriam-Webster dictionary definition of it:

    - a thick bed covering made of two layers of cloth containing a filling (as down)

Lol. :) A comforter is just that. Basicaly it's a duvet but you don't use a duvet cover. The comforter has a pattern/colour on it directly so you don't need a cover. I found it very difficult to find duvet covers in the US. Just another difference in culture I guess. We love our duvets, they love their comforters. :D

yes you can buy duvets in north america. you can certainly find them in canada, so i don't know why you'd have any problem finding one in the us!
isn't it fun thinking about the subtle differences in our cultures! duvets and comforters! haha! how silly!
i've used a comforter all my life and then 2 christmas's ago i got a duvet and it's so nice!!
    anyway...yes..
    cheers,

we call em either quilts or duvets here, they are full of feathers and go on your bed (in a cover). that make any sense? am bad at describing things like that! lol.
