Hi everyone, my name's Kat, from Surrey but finishing up uni in Nottingham at the mo! I've applied for 2008 CRP and have been browsing this board now and then to get some tips etc but I have one question! I e-mailed my CV a week or so ago to yummy after posting it to them last October (I was too late, so they told me to reapply for 2008). I just got an e-mail back informing me about the university programme, basically trying to discourage me from applying to the CRP (we got SO many CV's DAILY etc..) and to take the uni one up. Are they implying that I wont have a chance, because they didnt even acknowledge that they'd received my cv etc..or even mention the interview process.. uuuuhhh am i being paranoid, what responses have other people recevied??? thanks!
hey sorry to hear that, wat they r doing is just giving u other options to look into, if ur willing to think about more than 1 programme then uve got more of a chance in getting in, for crp the nxt interviews r in november time i think, maybe they liked ur cv n thought u might like to go earlier than 2008. just email back asking wat different programmes there is and for a little bit of info on them
i wouldnt look too much into it. Ive applied for the uni, post graduate one, and yet when i sent my cv in for it. they still sent me an email encouraging me to apply for it! It confused me no end! I'd just applied for it damn it! But think they just send it out automatically james
Yea its prolly just to give you more options. What I recall is that programme is the hardest to get into. I think there is somthing like only two types positions ??? Maybe they felt you would be better suited for the uni one? But if you have f&B or merch experience you should be ok
thanks for the replies guys! i feel a bit stupid, i've worked in restuarants and clubs/bars, but i havent put that on my CV as I've made an academic cv seeing as i'm also applying for a "proper" job now i'm graduating. oh well......... always next year, year after that etc etc!
did you put it on your cover note tho? i used the cover not to sell myself. and explained why working in bars, my course etc would stand me in good stead

It will be just to give you more options I think. When I went for the CRP they strongly encouraged me to go for the grad program saying there were more available places. I persevered and used the grad program as a backup plan, but won't need it as I'm going to do the CRP in July.
aah well done! so determination and perseverance is the key..hehe. ok i feel better now thanks to everyones repsonses. ;D
