Hi and congratulations. Welcome in our Disney's team. I'm sorry, I can't help you because I don't know lots of things about Orlando. But I can tell u that you'll have a training day when you arrive. See ya !
Hi firefox i'll see what questions i can help you with here: the apartments are located in lake buena vista, near disney (if you go to www.multimap.com) the commons/apartments are off vineland avenue, from orlando itself, the downtown area it is around 20 - 30 minutes. I'm afraid I don't know how much a cab is. you can rent a car, you will have to make sure you have all your driving documents with you. you can even buy cars out there if you want, but to do this you need to take your test again in america and the insurance can be quite a lot. the working week is approximately 40 hours a week, that is standard either shared as 10 hours for 4 days or 8 hours for 5 days a week. but if you work over your contracted hours you get extra pay. once you arrive you get trained for your job, you get specific job training as well as disney training for customer service etc. hope that helps Sara xx
Hey Firefox. As Sara, says, yeah Orlando is about 30 minute driving from the Commons. As u r already of age, 22, u can rent a car, of course u need to take all ur documents. And be ready to take a Florida license, because urhome country license only last for a month. The Cab, I am afraid to say, it is VERY expensive. Once Mexican alumni, Baruch, told me that it is around 14 dollars from the commons to Epcot. About 5 minutes driving So u can imagine how much does it cost to go to Orlando. Hope I could help u See ya Welcome to the boards!!!! Robb ;D
If you look on the 'living in florida' section f this site theres some links ti maps of where the commons are which are helpful!! If you zoom out then you see where they are in relation to everything else in orlando.
This is the case if you rent a car for over month. You can however rent a car for less than a month as many times as you like as long as you leave time between it. Hope this makes sense. I know alot of people who didn't get a Florida license and still rented cars up until the day they left florida. Is you just want it for a few days then you're fine with your home license. Cabs to the city I believe were around $60 which isn't bad if there is a huge group of you in a minibus. There are also buses from across at the Premium outlets during the day. I think a trip to Universal city walk (about 30 mins away) worked out to around $60 roundtrip. Hope this helps
Hey! As for your training, the first couple of days after you get there are spent signing papers and finding out about housing and getting your social security number. Then you have Traditions and classes specific to your job (Merchentainment if your in Merchandise and some other foods classes if your F&B), and Discovery Day at EPCOT. It's about a weeks worth of stuff before you even get into your work location to start on-the-job training. It seems like a lot and you'll be exhausted, but do your best to take in as much as possible and ask lots of questions!!! That's what your trainers are there for! Shan
