Hi I'm Stephanie and I just thought I'd introduce myself since I come to this forum almost everyday checking for updates and reading people's stories and what not. I'm from Canada and I'm desperately hoping to get into the CRP. I've applied of course but I was too late to get in for this year :'( and from what I've heard the next opportunity for an interview is sometime in September. I'm from Vancouver so that's where I'm hoping to have my interview, although I'd be more than willing to travel cross country for this lol ;D Anyways I did get a response from Yummy Job saying that they'll keep my info on file for the next set of interviews and that it looks like I have alot of good experience to be a Cutlural Rep so I have my fingers crossed that I get an interview even though it's a long way away lol. I don't want to get my hopes up too much but i can't help it, this would literally be a dream come true for me and I think about what it would be like to work in WDW everyday and I find myself planning what I'll bring, wear, do etc. haha. Anyway I meant for this to be a quick hello and now I'm rambling so I'll say goodbye now and if anyone has any info about upcoming interviews in Canada PLEASE let me know thank you and good luck to all!!!! ;D
I was the exact same way and not to sound like my mom but "If you can see it, you can do it" Before my interview I had already started planning what I'd bring and what I'd do. I didn't want to freak myself out or like screw up my chances. I didn't worry at all about the interview because I KNEW that this was the start for me. That i was meant to do this. I got the job. I did have a little fright because I didn't hear back right away but I honestly felt as I was doing my interview that I didn't need to worry. If you can keep with the positive mentality you can certainly reach this goal. Also, WELCOME TO THE FORUM!
You remind me of me. I am from Ontario Canada and I found out about this the end of June, and applied in July. Even called a few times but found out I was too early and they wanted me to send my stuff to them in September for the November interviews. So I did. But after having the phone interview I was told I would probably not get into the west coast interviews, since I was from Ontario. (I should have pressured them a bit more cause I was willing to make the trip to visit family. But I didn't.) So I applied again in December, got the phone interview and finally the face to face interview, and then got the job in F&B. So keep going with it. Send them another resume in August or something even. Or when you hear they are doing phone interviews call them. That is what I did, for my third time of applying. Send in my stuff then a few hours later gave them a call, had my phone interview and was accepted to the Face to Face there and then. I started off the same as you, and trust me, reading the forums pays off. It helps you to relax when the time comes for each step, which helps you look like a relaxed person at thoese times. One of my biggest advice I can give is, when people going to your interview start showing up on these boards, after you are accepted past the phone interview then get in touch and plan a dinner or something for when you all go to the face to face. I noticed that getting to know each other, and talking about Disney and stuff with everyone just boosted my desire so much more. And I made some friends so I could be social during the f2f interview day. Anyway good luck and welcome to the forums. Read as much as you can on here, and even some people who have been there's blogs. The more you know the better you can sell yourself at the interview.
Welcome! You sound like you have the right mentality and the right attitude to become a Disney Castmember, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time. We have all wanted this for a long time, and I think when your time comes, you'll definitely get it. Just stay focused and your dreams will come true! Until then, just keep dreaming and asking questions, so when you finally get to go down there, you are all set and ready to go! Best of luck
Thanks alot for the replies and advice guys. I feel so good right now (and I had a crappy day lol) So I guess it pays off to be persistent huh? I always worry about being a pest in that kind of situation when you keep on e-mailing and/or calling but whatever this is my goal now (my happy thought lol) and I don't care if I have to annoy some people to get it haha. But thanks again, I feel inspired ;D and that this really could happen for me, cuz when I first read about it it literally sounded too good to be true but if anyone can make dreams come true it's Disney right?
